One of their writers is surprised by Keatts' success because he does NOT respect Rick Pitino as a coach? Wtf.

So unhappy I actually gave this a click.

There are people that aren't a fan of Pitino's style. These guys are probably east coast rock fight guys and you can't fault them for that. That's what they know. Toughness and grit with size equals east coast hoops. I get that. Just because you play fast, that doesn't necessary equal soft though. Just look at this other side of the story for what it is, a different take. And, they could be right. Hope not!

I disagree. Bad analysis is bad analysis. No one who's actually watched Jordon Talley would suggest he's been anywhere close to "overwhelmed". We've slowed down our pace because our half court offense has improved with Cedrick and CJ playing some of their best ball.

Drexel was missing a player, but so was UNCW. IMO, Sherwood back in the mix is making a HUGE difference. He only played 8 minutes against Drexel, not quite back from his ankle injury. By him taking the minutes of Ogbodo, we're getting an extra 5-6 ppg in production at the 4. Plus, Dylan pulls out whoever is covering him, opening the paint, and removing a rebounder because you CANNOT leave Dylan open, ever. So, if they don't play us with four guards, the Williams guy at the 4 is likely in a bad matchup covering Dylan at the 3 point line. And if he does cover him, he's not rebounding and working down low, which is his only game.

Wiliiams is a post player at 6'7", 220lbs. and Sherwood is an outside threat at 6'9", 215lbs. So, the question is can Dylan negate Williams in the paint on defense, and make him pay for it from the 3 point line on offense. My bet is he can. Not to mention, Willliams doesn't shoot well from the field, and is horrible at the FT line.

But, if he does hurt Dylan in the paint, we've proven we can go with Ced and CJ on the paint, with both of them having come on lately. I think Keatts has figured this team out, and we can play several styles and win. The zone was killing us with Dylan out, but we salivate when we see it now.

I just don't see that they have any particular strength beyond Lee scoring. Not to mention, they are last in the CAA in rebounding.

I wouldn't worry about that "second time around" nonsense, IMO.

Hofstra beat us by almost 20 to open league play and then we beat them. The problem was less about our D, and more about not being able to hit very many shots. Our offense was sputtering at best yesterday.

Good point about Hofstra--they certainly didn't adjust very well!
