McLean with one last turnover not fully expecting a pass...Can't even bench these guys because there is no one else to play. Program turnover, missing on recruits, yawn.

No, you are right on. We don't have the talent. We have not had the talent in 20 years. The teams from the early 90s would have destroyed this bunch.

Meanwhile, I'm catching up on past episodes of Moonshiners. What they do up therr in them therrr hills is mo excitin than JMU bball down therrrr in the valley. Wins sure help to assuage our crappy, been left behind, conference situation. Losing like this is salt in the wound.

This team doesn't care. That's a reflection of the "leadership" on this team.

After today, he's averaging one foul per 17+ minutes, usually against the opposing team's best player. He and Grays got fired up during that last (futile) run this afternoon, despite getting called for a handful of ticky-tack fouls.

But make sure you don't let facts get in the way of your long-held opinion.

How would you feel if you were Curry having to throw the ball in to Tom Vodonavich knowing he's going to bounce it off his knee? You can rant and rave and be vocal all you want but Satkus isn't going to suddenly be good at basketball.

Fine. He's a great leader. Amazing, really.

W&M's bench was more fired up than our starters. On the road.

I don't know what yall see, or if you know what leadership looks like. Do you see Vad in curry? I don't.

I've never in my life seen a bench fired up when a guy is draining 3s in your face. Who cares about the end of the bench? How about recruit a couple of guys with athletic ability?

I'm watching UVA and they're absolutely horrible on offense. They're over 6 minutes into the game with Duke and they have 4 points and are down by 2. Our guys just can't catch up to a screen or get a hand in a face on a shot or get a rebound.

Overreact to what? The fact that every time we play a decent team we get decimated the same way. Do you see any place where this is going to change? The point was, they keep themselves in the game because they are athletic enough to challenge almost every shot. We sit around and wonder why teams who have any competence come out and ambush us. There's a reason for it.

I think you guys are overreacting. We're in a bit of an offensive hot streak right now, and while it was a pretty bad game for y'all you're still 4th in the CAA. Our first matchup was much closer, you're not as deprived of talent as you think.

Did 36 - 8 really happen, seriously? W&M had JMU at 36 -8 on our own court on TV?

It happened but if you get upset about it you're overreacting! Everything is just fine.

Curry

No.

He's clearly the leader. Maybe just say what about him makes him a bad leader rather than "no". At least then it's a conversation.

Thanks for the post. I don't view him as anything special. I just appreciate his defensive effort & his willingness to drive. I did cringe when he came up short on the double-clutch dunk. He's the closest thing we have to upperclassman leadership.

Yeah, that was embarrassing. Honestly, I think he was just exhausted at that point and a lot of fuel had come out to launch the jets. Curry can dunk it pretty easily but he's not a high riser. I think his fuel tank was just about on E.

As long as we're pointing out how bad it was, it actually got to 37-8 before we finally went on a run 01-france

It's called a comparison. You can have good athletes who aren't really great with the ball and still win. Talent isn't all about offense. I don't know or care whether UVA will hold on to win this game but when you have athletes, you don't get ambushed like that.

RE: Gamer and W&M game
Good crowd today thanks to the admitted student Choices program and many parents and future Dukes in the stands. Unfortunately, this program is better than it was with Dillard and Keener, but not as good as it should/could be with a better coach than Brady. In my view, he's had more than enough time to make more progess than has been made. With all of the other distractions, players leaving, drama, etc., it's time to make a change. The reality is that we compete with the teams we should and seldom knock off teams of a better calibre. The program as a whole is a big yawn. We need a new coach, a new culture for the program and some excitement. Feels like we're just treading water year after year. Make some improvements one year and take a few steps back the next. I left the game with about 4 minutes left and listened to the rest on the radio. Embarrasing how Shickman was kissing Brady's a__ commenting about how the team fought so hard and didn't give up in the second half as would have happened back in the Dillard/Keener days. He added today's game could have been a 40-50 point loss without the heart of the team showing itself. While I appreciate the second half effort, we still got blasted at home. C'mon Schick- you sounded like too much of a homer and and announcer worried he may lose his basketball gig if a new coach comes in as was the case with football. Terrible loss today and embarrassing at best.

quote='JMU2004' pid='11719148' dateline='1422741706']
You really can't defend Brady with this performance. At home, against the conference leader, and you trot that effort out on the court.

You can't tell me "they shot the lights out" because it seems like every team has great shooting when playing JMU.

Nice guy, mediocre coach. 2.1 million dollars paid to him. Not worth it.

Somebody that was there, tell me what the Convo was like at 37 - 8. I am guessing that it was bad, would have been horrific if not for the MRDs that keep the place from sounding like a morgue.
