Officials have three apparent options: Do nothing, which means UAB must withdraw by July 1; grant the school a permanent waiver from the bylaws; or give a one-year reprieve to find a new conference and/or make a decision to restart football. The decision will be made by league presidents.

This situation sounds like UAB is about to find out the degree of difference between having Gene Bartow in our corner (as when we joined C-USA) and having Ray Watts there. Is Ray about to be "schooled"?

If they really do have those three options, the third one would certainly be the most sensible for both sides.

A good observation. The leadership gap is about to be highlighted

Ray Watts is not in our corner, and that puts the presidents in a peculiar bind. They surely understand that he is an arrogant buffoon (or will 42 seconds (4+11) after he utters his first word to them) who cannot be trusted to keep his word about anything.

I hope at least one of them musters the rage to tell Watts to resign, to his face.

I hope one, or more, of the presidents deflate his ego and humiliates him in a professional way.
The whole too much to fund issue is crap. He will be in the presence of peers he can't bully or insult without a reply. My concern is like everyone else, his presence may hurt us more than help us.

I think so too, but I'm hopeful by having Don Hire and Messina representing us.
