Can't you at least get his name right if you're going to make up stuff about him? And Tennstud is no more of an insider than you are. I wouldn't share his "info" if I were you...

RE: Memphis spending too much on FB?
Nothing new to report per se, but I was told a little more details about how close Memphis was to losing Fuentes to program in the Big12. At the 11th hour, the P5 program elected to give their coach one more year. This is how the rumblings of project "Roundball Recovery" were first discovered. It was leaked prematurely when the Memphis movers and shakers thought Fuentes was out the door. As usual, I'll share more as more info is revealed to me.

You're welcome.

Rumor has it that as soon as Narduzzi gets poached by another school (U Tenn maybe?) they will de-emphasize FB so that they can put more resources back into BB.

As I get more info, I'll post more updates.

There are some older boosters who long viewed football as a drain and waste of resources. That group is dying out and has less clout. The Tigers will never starve hoops but football is getting plenty of love from boosters.

Please stop...........that makes too much sense.

My sources tell me that the UAB administration is going to spend more this year on not having football than they would have in the next decade if they had not killed it.

Not buying it. To be credible Memphis scoop, it must be leaked on a Tuesday, confirmed on a Tuesday, or speculated to occur on a Tuesday. This includes tidbits overheard while dining at Ruby Tuesdays or waiting in the checkout line at Tuesday Morning.

8 head coaches in the last 3 years, something like that. They messed up tearing down
Pitt Stadium. Big mistake. ACC in football is FSU, Tier 2 Ville/Clemson then part timer ND.
When Pitt was tearing down Pitt Stadium Ville was opening PJCS.

Fuentes rumors are gaining speed. He'll still coach this season, but it appears he'll be on a lot of candidate lists at tiger end of the season, possibly even an NFL team list or two as well. Roundball Recovery plan will be implemented around Nov this year. If Fuentes leaves Memphis as is expected, they will try to poach Diaco or maybe Tuberville.

He's a famous Mexican novelist.

Quote: In what seems like an unusual move, it is widely rumored that Mexican novelist Carlos Fuentes (11Nov1928-15May2012) is being considered for the Pitt head coach position which became vacant after the unexpected announcement that Pat Narduzzi would not be able to take up the head coach position that he had originally accepted. "All I can say is that at this time, it is urgent that I spend more time with my family", said Coach Narduzzi.

A staff member of the Pitt athletic department, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, "We know that both as a Mexican novelist and as a dead man, Fuentes would be an unexpected hire, but he comes quite strongly recommended by several individuals quite close to the program."

When Fuente gets a P5 job, watch out. If Fedora has a .500 record or worse it wouldn't surprise me to see UNC take him. Would be a good hire for them

This would be an inspired (no pun intended) hire. It would certainly help to satisfy the concerns of those who have been lobbying for less discrimination against the deceased in the workplace.

Miko, my sources say that every single time they read your posts, they think of a stroke victim talking. They've also told me to tell you to stop with your speculation. You're making Al Gore look like a decent and honorable human being.

When I told this to miko during my brief trip to Tokyo I wondered if he would report it as fact and it appears he did. Folks, I'm sorry to say I lied and made it all up. What miko posted, almost word-for-word from what I told him, is absolutely false. Again, I apologize.
