The Georgia Southern Eagles are staying in the Belt.

If GaSt goes to the Market Conference they will just take the dumpster fire with them.

Them there Cajuns will jump from the Belt because they just can not take there being a new top dog in the Belt.

If TxSt left it would be because it is a texas thang.

If it was NMSU that joined ValleyBoy would say best of Luck I am glad Ya'll finally got all sports in one conference.

Would hate to lose stAte but there is just not one dang thing ValleyBoy can do about it if the red wolfs decide to up and jump ship.

I would guess if they add 1 western team it is between NMSU, Louisiana or Texas St.

But I repeat I can't see why any G5 conference really wants more than 12 teams.

Ben Moore's information is strong if it's coming from where I think it is.

The rumor back a few weeks after UAB pulled the plug was that it was down to Georgia State, the Cajuns, and Ohio.

I hear Texas State is the front runner to replace UAB.

It's a nice thought, but not likely to happen . . . too many TX schools in CUSA at present . . ..

I volunteer Georgia State to head to CUSA.

With powerhouses like Georgia State, Charlotte, FAU and FIU in CUSA, the Sun Belt will NEVER catch up! 03-lmfao 03-lmfao

Not necessarily. It would be nice to have more than 3 or 4 televised basketball games. I was at a bar here in Atlanta, and they had the UTEP v. WKU game on Fox Sports 1. It would be nice if the SB could catch up in regard to some of that.

The only Sun Belt schools that will be considered will be ULL, Arkansas State, and Georgia Southern. But don't rule out Akron, Toledo, or Northern Illinois

since UAB canned their program I have heard nothing on our end about CUSA and our AD is usually very out front if we are trying to move

Why would we want to trade one goat humper for another goat humper. If we have to be in a conference with goat humpers we would rather it our goat humpers since we already know there goat humping style.

That's pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking. Granted, I could care less where GS goes, although I'd rather stay in the SB bc of the App rivalry.

With CUSA bringing on UNC Concord, and having the FU's, I don't think they would want Ga State bringing down their conference any more football wise, although the SB would greatly appreciate it.

Does President Keel give y'all a little reward per GSU insult or something? I love how you try to act like we're full of ourselves when this thread has repeatedly brought in Georgia State cracks without a single negative comment from a Panther fan...

For the most part it is just NCEagle. Just have to rise above the crazies.

I know, I know...sorry, momentary shortsightedness after having a majority of times I checked on this thread for genuine thoughts greeted with pointless knocks on some combination of my school/team/fans...

EDIT: NCEagle, you're an interesting case, by the way...like half the time you seem to really have the hang of well-timed message board trolling, and sometimes it seems like you just can't help yourself...maybe I'm just not great at telling when I'm being trolled...

Most if not all Marshall fans would love it to be Ohio. They are Marshall's longest standing rival. But Ohio is a charter member of the MAC and aren't going anywhere.

I would love it to be NIU and Toledo. I have no doubt that the Marshall Toledo rivalry would heat up in no time. I just don't see either coming though, although Toledo was crunching numbers in 03 when ask. I would support Akron but as a fan base like most MAC schools they are a project. A lot of the kids that go to MAC school are raised on Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State or Purdue.

If CUSA takes NIU or Toledo then maybe the Belt fans will finally start worrying more about building than leaving.

I just don't see a northern team added, could cause to many travel issues during winter sports. The marshall radio guy said Texas State would be front of line, but I don't see the reason for 5 texas teams in one conference. IF a belt team was added, my logic off of recent success would say between UL / State or GSU ......UL then gets blocked by La Tech and state would have no travel partner which eliminates them. Then CUSA adds a team from GA or AL which would be GSU / Troy or USA depending on which school signs up for the most commitments for growth ...... My guess would be GSU as much as I don't like some of the fans, I respect the program

I don't foresee Georgia Southern going anywhere on their own right now.
