PTI is still the best so on ESPN. Nothing comes close (Okay Sports Center, but that doesn't count).

Am I forgetting some connection there? Why does Wilbon care about JMU?

No connection I'm aware of, but Wilbon and Kornheiser both covered the Redskins when Gary Clark was with the team, and they'd both have to know Lindsay Czarniak from her time on DC tv and now at ESPN.

Flip has been dealt bad cards at the QB position pretty much his entire NFL coaching career except for Eli Manning, Carson Palmer, and Derek Carr. He got more production out of JeMarcus Russell than anyone on the professional level could have ever dreamed of. Flip also coached Terrell Pryor and Matt McGloin way up over their talent level.

Johnny f'ing Football will be his biggest challenge. Manziel is a spoiled rich kid who seems only to care about one thing- partying. Flip will get in his face and rip him a new one... Wishing my friend and our fellow JMU alum the best!

Flip interviewed for the OC job in Cleveland last year too and didnt get it.

I just re-read the article from last year's (above linked) thread comparing him to Adam Gase. Pretty good read.

Flip is getting a lot of good mentions at the end of today's Cleveland-Baltimore game.

I don't wish ill on any JMU grad. I just don't see ( or hear ) of his successes. I swear, he has milked his daddy's connections into a very lucrative career.

Flip has done a good job with the Browns, no question. They're not exactly loaded with skill players and Cleveland has scored well in every game except the first game versus the Jets. McCown set a franchise record for passing today, by the way.

That's kind of how I feel about Lane Kiffin. I'm not sure what he has ever done to warrant all of his high profile job opportunities. As far as I'm concerned, his only successful team at USC was still loaded with Pete Carroll recruits.

Yup- Kiffin is a great example of that. Somehow, some of these clowns get knighted w/ the " fast-track" label. Major Applewhite ( who I thought highly of as a player), was another example. Playing at a high level does not necessarily mean one can coach to the same degree. Connections, Connections, Connections

2-10 browns are a mess. Manziel is a cancer..
For Johnny Manziel, it's still not about football

Johnny Manziel calls latest incident 'lapse of judgment'

Wonder if Withers does leave if Defilippo would be interested in getting out of that mess in Cleveland and seeking the JMU job..

Of course not if he's still an OC. But the Browns are 2-10. Does their HC Mike Pettine getted canned after this season? If so what happens to Defilippo? I see the Browns are 26th in Total offense and 30th in Scoring offense.
