RE: Delaware
If JMU beats Northeastern tomorrow, it's a 5-way tie for first.

82Hawk seems to think our loss tonight eliminates us from contention. I guess we should just cancel the remainder of our season. Too funny.

Technically if JMU wins and then the season promptly ended.....you guys would be the # 1 seed.

It was an awful meltdown and loss. Our defense just evaporated in the second half despite Shaver switching defenses about five times. Nobody bothered to cover their guards.
Listen to Tony after game on Tribe web pages!

But there are games like this that just happen. Team needs to focus on Northeastern and Hofstra coming up.

Bright spot...where are all the Omar doubters now?

Just flush it and move along. There have been upsets like this for others in our conference this year.

It's not worth it. They were due to gack up a terrible loss. Next two games are big.

RE: Delaware
The curious thing for me, and I will leave more experienced hands to tell me if I am right or not, but, while numerous teams have double teamed Marcus this season (with good reason), this is the first one that actually tried to "trap" him every time he came off a pick. He was forced to give up the ball "up high', preventing him from going towards the basket and either shooting or distributing the ball as he usually does. This seemed to really disrupt our offensive flow, especially in the second half, and cause it to run far further into the shot clock than normal and producing far less efficient shots than normal (38%). (several players passing up wide open shots didn't help either).

I haven't seen anything that looked quite like it so far, but I figure we will, because it sure was effective in the second half last night. I think that was the quietest 15 points I have seen from Marcus since, maybe, his freshman year.

Let's get back on it on Saturday.

After such an utterly senseless loss, this is the only response that registers for me. It reminds me of that awful Towson game in 2010. I have been waiting for the day when a good Tribe team comes along and takes care of business every week, winning with consistency against inferior competition. I guess I am still waiting.

Let's win the next two and all will be right with the world.

Tough loss for you guys, but I'm looking forward to a tough WM team coming to Trask soon. You guys will get back on track. Like Tribe32 said, "flush it and move on". Your team has talent and is tough. I have no doubts you guys will bounce back and stay in contention. Now go get NU!!!

Here is what I learned:

-The Tribe are not nearly as good as I thought

-The Tribe may never approach the level of being a team that we can smack talk other schools about...(provided most of you aren't busy saying "Jolly good show ole Chap" to the opponent)

-The CAA overall is weak, which magnifies how disturbing it is when one of the supposed top tier teams chokes itself to death like that.

That all said, I will refrain from the remainder of the season to act like the Tribe are elite, it bit me in the behind last night (up by 14 against that hot mess from UD, I went and watched "Justified" on my dvr).

It is my fault. I turned on the broadcast with the Tribe up 16, and then Delaware ran off 11 straight. I wasn't there in person, but Yikes!

All I can say is that Tony should make sure the players understand that the CAA tourney is played at a neutral site. We sure can't win consistently on the road, but maybe we can on a neutral court in Baltimore.

Despite the Delaware debacle, I ordered my book of tickets for the tournament from W&M yesterday. I even got a work visit scheduled for my way back to NC from Charm City, so I am all in.

Go Tribe!

RE: Delaware
Only a team as young and maddening as this one can...in the span of a few games, win a game from 22 points behind and then lose a game with an 18 point lead.

It's tough to keep remembering that this is a team with only one senior starting..and only that senior among the starting five and four subs comprising the top nine. Besides Thornton we're playing two juniors, two sophomores, two redshirt freshmen, and two true freshmen.

Hard to predict what team we'll see tomorrow and next Wednesday.
