RE: Wednesday at Tulsa...
You guys are cute.

8 years of Wojick purgatory is when you stomped us. We get that. You beat us badly and we were rarely competitive against Memphis. Cal had some of the best teams that Ive ever seen. He had the best players and he is one of the best coaches in Tiger history.

Tulsa stomped you in FB during the Porter and Tommy West years of your purgatory but puffing my chest over that would sound silly wouldnt it? Everyone I know likes Fuente and is stoked that Memphis has a good football program again. Fuente is a Tulsa kid.

Historically Tulsa has been a great program. We won 32 games in 2000. (Elite 8). Won an NIT (beat Memphis in the Semis by 20) in 2001. NCAA second round 2002 and 2003. 1994/1995/1996/1997/1999 NCAA. 81 NIT champs. NCAA 82,83,84,85,86,87 ect...Anyone that knows anything knows that Tulsa was a mid major power in 80s and 90s. We won under Nolan, Tubby, Self and even stupid Buzz Peterson. We have all those neat banners hanging from the rafters. Not nearly as many as Memphis.

2004 - 2012 was our downtime. It was awful. CUSA 2.0 was a dark time for Tulsa basketball and it wasnt all that bad. Most of those teams won 20 games and went to a spare postseason tourney.

You just got beat by a good team that most of you dont remember losing to. I understand why you melt.

Most of you probably don't remember getting throttled by SMU in CUSA 2.0. SMU hasnt gone to the NCAA tourney since 1993 but I don't see the same dismissal of SMU and meltdown. I get that Larry Brown has changed things @ Moody but the best thing that school has ever done was reach the NIT finals last year.

You have a coaching problem that might not magically change with a new coach. Memphis or any other program is always a bad coaching hire away from having a really bad run of luck.

Sweet melt.
