My first two choices are: C and SF, in that order.

The center has to be capable of playing 30 minutes / game and should be a JUCO. Pray that the NCAA moves to 6 fouls.

The SF can be a frosh as Bond will be good for 30 minutes for game.

The only way to go guard, for example, is if a guard leaves...

I'm not worried about PF, because I have such high regard for Madray. When a coach has players like Lee, Bond, Madray, etc. those players should get 30 minutes / game with only one true backup (10 minutes / game). We need less backup minutes at those positions.

Wofford-Humphrey can back up both Madray and our center in 2016/17.

No known interest here, but I saw the young man play when I was home a few weeks ago.
He would be a good fit for the zone and he can put the ball in the basket. He's 6'6 and says he's a 2. I think he's more of a 3.

Here is a 2018 (no typo) offer for Davion Williams, G, Belleville...

I agree that Murphy will go aggressively for 2017 and 2018 classes. For 2017, he can grab the best player he finds at whatever position he finds them.

He literally has to go for need in 2016 so he'll move cautiously unless a good center pops up.

The U of D board is reporting that Kane has just left the U of D program.

Not sure he is going to get a lot of looks: He has one season to play so it is sit one and play one for a JUCO who averaged a couple points a game and ditto for rebounds.

He might fare better if he were a graduating senior (graduate eligible) but I honestly don't know where he'll end up (D-II?).

Mentions 2018 Williams and also it appears that the River Rouge has a rising prospect:

Looks like Ranger College a Div I JUCO in Texas will be loaded with incoming freshmen Michigan talent:

Jeff McKinney #4 ‏@McKinneysWorld 5h5 hours ago

@coacheubankss33 @BankHoops Kris Clyburn, Aaron Austin, John Flowers, Tariiq Jones & Rio Washington.

We know about Clyburn. Washington is a 6'8 that could develop. Don't know about the rest of the players.

2016 recruiting will be dead, dead, dead if we sign a h.s. Or JUCOS to replace Samuels. We would only have one player exhausting eligibility, Nazione.

And maybe that scholarship should also go to a center.[/size]

Dre Dentmond a 6'7 player from Lansing Eastern transferred from Vincennes to Barton Community after one semester at Vincennes. He will be a sophomore after this upcoming season. He may be under the radar.

It appears that after playing one year at Owens CC that Darren Groves has transferred to Vincennes. Groves is 6'8 and averaged 10 point as a frosh for Owens.

From Steve Bell:

6-7 Dre Dentmond looks good at Moneyball ProAm, will be heavily recruited for Vincennes.

Thik Bol from Iowa Western. Led the country in blocked shots as a FR (4.9bpg). This is what caught my interest.

He also averaged 9 points a game, and 8.5 rebounds. Will be a soph at Iowa Western CC this upcoming year. Short at 6'7.

RE: 2016 Men's Basketball Recruiting
Nothing new, but with Thompson we will have ONE scholarship to give in November.

With Thompson a center, Madray, possible, and LWH also a possible center, I'm not sure that the last scholarship has to be a center.

I'd guess that decision will be made in the coming months after all three are on campus. I believe LWH is finishing up a class and Madray won't be on campus until fall (as he is a sitout this year).

Maybe by the end of September the staff will have a good idea how the center position will play out in 2016/17 and their recruiting strategy.

Take the best player available regardless of position.

A player to add for 16 or 17, Xavier Cochrane a high school qualifier will enroll at Owens Community College in Toledo. A very good catch for them.

Xavier can be re-recruited in 2016. Presumably will be a MAC-level recruit if he plays well at Owens.

I pretty much agree about BPA for 2016. I don't see a glaring hole to fill ALTHOUGH the staff might want another true center, e.g., Jacksis, and let Madray and LWH play the four in 2016/2017.

Brandon (Nazione) would be effectively replaced by another PF, LWH, who might be playing out of position at C.

E.g., Madray/LWH/Nobles at PF and say Thompson/Jacksis at center. That works for me.

I know we only have one scholie to give but here's our neighbor Indiana's top 2016, the Indy Star does a great job covering high school recruiting in Indiana:
