This is much more than realistic than Houston replicating Ohio St, or UCF replicating Alabama. Those are impossibilities. USF can build a stadium and that'd be an advantage over Miami as they'll never build one. Their glory days are over, their program is cheating still and its time the NCAA did an SMU on them. "Da U" is dying....USF can be better

So can we.... UCF already has a stadium. a fanbase, a coach, etc etc.

USF should get something built, asap.

Impossible is putting it harshly, there have been points in history where UH had a better (and even much better) program than OSU in both major sports and the City of Houston is fertile for a lot of things, such as recruits and potential fans.

As for Miami, if anything ever happens to the ACC and they're on the wrong side of the fallout, they will be in big trouble.

And I don't think anyone can replicate what Miami did without lots of cheating as well as the circumstances that led to them getting good, such as:

-The City. Miami and Miami Beach was coming into its own in the mid-1980's and had a vibe going for it that perhaps can't be found anywhere outside of Southern California.

-Miami was the only D1-A program south of the panhandle back then and got any recruit they wanted from Orlando and south. Though none are on equal footing, they have 4 competitors now, including 2 in their own metro area.

-Miami benefitted from playing in the same stadium as a major bowl, let alone being in the same city. They parlayed that into winning that bowl over one of the best teams of all-time and stealing a national title.

-It was easier for an outsider program to gain prestige. Even BYU won a national title the next season after Miami's first in a scenario that pretty much could not be repeated today.


USF can get there but realistically, the circumstances that led to Miami becoming the it program of college sports will be hard to replicate.
