Here we are in the midst of a very competitive season, with legitimate hopes that this is the year that "it" finally is achieved and you guys are talking about next year?

Why don't we suspend this for about 89weeks and come back to it then?

Enough idle hours in the day to discuss/enjoy this year and think ahead to next year IMO. Benefit of being a fan, we get to look ahead and lose focus.

I just purchased my flight to Baltimore for the CAA tournament. This will be my first time attending the tournament. I felt I couldn't miss my last opportunity to see MT play in person for the Tribe. Possibility of also witnessing Tribe history in the making was also a strong draw.

Well that settles it. If you're going, I'm going!

I'd expect nothing less from a Tribe super fan such as yourself.

I had to cash in a lot chips at home to pull this trip off. Also helped that I didn't make a football game this year.

RE: Uninformed Questions
Last time I went to the first game the Tribe played in the tournament was March, 1998. Didn't turn out too well.

My promise to myself is that if they are ever playing a game to get "in", I will be there. That was easy to keep when both the tournament and I were in Richmond. Lately, it has been more difficult. Last year, I booked a flight from Charleston to Baltimore right after the Towson win.

My new rule is that if the Tribe is heavily favored in round 1 and at least 50-50 in round 2, than I will make the plunge and get the tickets and lodging for the entire tournament. Decision time for that is after the Hofstra home game.

RE: Uninformed Questions
Let's hope Mrs. Got Ribe and Got Ribe hook us up with some cool tourney shirts again.

I had a total blast last year. Great get-together at a pub before the games and awesome time watching games with die hard fans. Don't miss this experience, folks.

Tribal, it was a lot of fun last year...until the final buzzer.

I'll check into reserving the pub area before the games and let everyone know what the plans are.

Hope to see everyone at the GOLD RUSH game on Saturday!

RE: Uninformed Questions
I still remember with the Tribe up and less than a minute to go, we started trying to figure out where the first NCAA tourney game would be...so yes it is all my fault.

I did riot afterwards, threw a empty beer can at a trash can in New Town, then ran before the JCC PD showed up to Taser me.

I watched the game with someone from this board and can't recall who it was, we were at The Corner Pocket. (Tribesf bailed as soon as I showed up, called me the Legion of Doom or something like that)

I was rioting with you in solidarity. I owe a Baltimore parking garage a new exit sign.

RE: Uninformed Questions
The disappointment felt in Baltimore last March still weighs upon me. The spectacular way that we extended our losing streak in conference tournament finals to 9 still hurts me, and I am sure it hurts those on the team and coaching staff even more.

I am counting on that hurt to bring about a different outcome this time around.

RE: Uninformed Questions
I recorded the game and, as a glutton for punishment, still haven't erased it. I guess I enjoy watching the spectacular comeback from ten/twelve points down in the final eight minutes--
led by Omar's incredible scoring burst.

When I watch their big center big center obviously charge and run over Marcus on that final UD
"basket" I get mad all over again. Not to mention the moving pick on Sheldon just before the charge.

Jamie Luckie is not my favorite official.

That "Big Center" got away with walking/charging all day - I could not understand why/how he was able to get away with it!

:-) Write-up in RTD this week that Jamie Luckie was the heir apparent to the Karl Hess throne.

And yet despite all that W&M had a 6 point lead with a minute left. Can't blame the refs for W&M melting down.
