Twitter is a more social, casual venue for news... I get it, so I'm not going to hold personal tweets against the man. Follow a few Blazer fans and you'll catch retweets of his UAB-related content without his personal stuff.

On the story itself: guys like Irvine and Champlin were true professionals and spoiled us with the amount & quality of content they generated for us.

Birdsong is absolutely terrible.

This is one of the worst ledes ever:

Who knows if Jerod Haase is a big Public Enemy fan but the third-year UAB coach is a subscriber to the mantra of one of the classic rap group's most popular songs -- "Don't Believe the Hype".

Really there is not much difference in the two. Torraine actually had more ability as a writer than Birdsong and they both have the same work ethic on the beat.

I have yet to see Birdsong sleeping through football practice in his car, so I have my reservations on that.

I also haven't noticed that Birdsong seems to have a vendetta against UAB like Norris did. Norris felt it was his duty to point out every over inflated attendance.

Birdsong seems incompetent but not vicious....well until he reads this thread

Birdsong is a dumb kid on a beat he has no familiarity with. Irvine is our spoken word. Thank god he had a spread via UAB.
