Why should we believe that GP has more insight into what's going on with Greg Marshal than anyone else? He's guessing and stirring the pot.

Gary is more dialed in to CBB than just about anyone.

MAN...this would be the lift up...Marshall also knows what talent is in the stable...Lawsons!

I am not reading all these pages. I am Realistic Ralph. Marshall wants no part of this **** show.

It would still take a series of events to happen to begin with.

If Pastner turned it around and they make a run to the tourney than change of any kind is moot.

I don't think they would want Pastner. They are in a similar boat as us. They expect more than what Crean has been able to deliver. It is puzzling that Crean hasn't been more successful. It seemed like a good hire at the time.

I noticed you live in Rosemark. I went to high school there back in the day.

Marshall has stayed at Wichita and shied away from mid-to-lower level BCS jobs... NC State, Nebraska which would have paid him more money... because he's happy and scared of the prospects of failing. He was quoted as saying he has no coaching tree or parachute. If he fails somewhere, then he's done. That being said, Memphis does not suffer from some of the same pitfalls as NC State, Nebraska or even Indiana (which Tom Crean's failure has got to be a red flag for coaches). Memphis has the best facilities in its conference. Memphis has arguably the best recruiting base in its conference. Memphis has the best fan support in its conference. Memphis spends the most money on basketball in its conference. Memphis pays the most money to its basketball coach in its conference. Memphis is the best job, in its conference. In my opinion, Memphis is the kind of jobs a big time coach can win big time games and titles. Wichita and Memphis are not equal jobs... but the gigs he's been offered, thus far, are not better jobs than the best job in its' conference. Memphis is. If this job is available, and if he is looking to leave Wichita, then are are few that can offer him the opportunity at the fat salary and the opportunity to win that Memphis does.
