RE: NFL Draft 2015
One more article on Tre projecting him @ 3~4 rounds. I think if we had a little better QB playing, his stats could have been eye popping.

I think that Tre McBride is better than a lot of FBS receivers getting hype right now. He's not an Amari Cooper or a first round talent but there is so much to like in this small school prospect. You see some Pierre Garcon in him, you see a little John Brown in him, but most of all you see the talent. Some are saying he'll be a 5th round selection, I'll personally be amazed if he makes it out of the 3rd round. He will be a steal for someone and with his hard working persona and a committed coaching staff, he can be a very good receiver at the next level.

You know I like to highlight a small school guy that I think the Jets should go all out for. This year Tre McBride is my guy. He has all the receiver traits you can't teach and his negatives can be corrected by high level coaching. If he finds the right situation, where he'll see the field a lot, then he can provide the same output that John Brown did this year in Arizona (48 receptions, 698 yards, 5 touchdowns).

I really want the Jets to target this receiver in the 3rd or 4th round.

Draft Grade: 72

90-100 = Exceptional Talent

80-90 = Impact Player

70-80 = NFL Starter

Agree with everything you said other than the part about the Jets. The Colts or anywhere with a real QB would be better than the Jets.

I believe that is cut and pasted from an article written by a Jets fan/blogger

RE: NFL Draft 2015
Josh Norris of Rotoworld ranks the prospects at Shrine Bowl.

1. WR Tre McBride, William & Mary - The clear top prospect at the event. McBride consistently generated separation from corners in one on one drills at a variety of levels with a variety of routes. McBride still came down with contested or acrobatic catches even when covered. He is not locked to one alignment and McBride could even win from the slot.

RE: NFL Draft 2015
Senior Bowl may have been the higher aspiration, but the Shrine game has handsomely paid off for Tre with singular recognition he wouldn't have gotten at the Senior Bowl.

Does anyone know if Jhalil Mosley decided to enter the NFL draft or is he staying for another year at WM?

I can't imagine William and Mary will ever have a player leave early for the NFL draft. Almost no FCS players do

RE: NFL Draft 2015
He has almost as much game film as Cardale Jones. Just three games less.

RE: NFL Draft 2015
If he declared, Cardale Jone was a sure 2nd rounder. If he showed up well at combine, he could have slipped into the late 1st round. All this with 3 games. This is what the experts were saying today. Anway, Tre was praised as one of best players at East West Shrine Game. When was the last time one of W&M players was praised this high?

RE: NFL Draft 2015
To answer you last question: Maybe never.

McBride is probably the highest rated player from William and Mary ever. The only other modern player that was rated that high coming out of college was John Cannon who was a beast of a defensive player and who played many years in the NFL for Tampa Bay.

RE: NFL Draft 2015
As for where players in the last 20 years have been drafted, Sharper was in the 2nd, Cox was drafted in the 3rd round, Webb in the 4th, Tracy in the 6th round, and Lissemore in the 7th round.

Cannon back in 1982 was a 3rd round pick.

RE: NFL Draft 2015
Sporting News preview of "10 things to watch" in Shrine Game. Telling about Tre's week is the fact that #2 and #3 are East Squad cornerbacks he went against all week.

[i][i]6. East wide receiver Tre’ McBride, William & Mary (No. 3)

One could easily argue that the 6-1, 205-pound McBride not only looked like the most talented receiver during week, but also the most polished. That is an amazing accolade for an FCS player.

His speed and precise footwork were noteworthy. He showed the most consistency in separating from man coverage and catching the ball.

Smaller, quick receivers in all-star practices often can separate and catch early in the week as corners give them lots of space during coverage drills. As the days go by, those DBs inevitably become more aggressive and physical in their coverage, and a lot of receivers wilt like lettuce under a heat lamp. McBride continued to create separation and finish plays. This bodes well for him as he tries to make it to the next level, and he should have a big game Saturday if his quarterbacks can get him the ball.

Crap. No one told me Heinicke would be throwing the ball to Tre during the game. Now I don't know what to root for.

Think about life with Taylor on our roster the past 4 seasons. Hell of a player, tough, and intelligent.
