Many of the regulars here know about the very serious car accident that my wife and young son were involved in in April. Your prayers and thoughts were greatly appreciated.

Since then my wife has made what I consider a 90% recovery. She nows drives herself to work, which is 20 miles from home. We have been blessed.

I have been absent a lot this season due to life under difficult circumstances. I haven't posted much at all, but I want yall to know I read every day. I may not be seen but this place has been in my thoughts.

You folks are my friends and I wanted to to wish you all well. I hope everyone has Happy New Year!

P.S. "The Empire Strikes Back" in 2015. Neal Brown is back and it's time for the Good Guys to return to the Throne.

Was not aware of your families circumstances . . . Am glad to hear that they're recovering . . . Will keep y'all in thoughts and prayers, and hope that all have a full recovery.

I tell ya, you never can prepare for a police officer at your door saying your wife and son have been in a serious car crash...especially when he has no further information. Worst day of my life.

Since that day though, my wife has fought like Ali to get back to her life. On top of her drive, she's done it without addictive painkillers. It's been incredible.

We managed to make it to 2 games this season.

I've often thought about how different things could have gone down. What if that cop had came to tell me that Samantha and my son had been killed in the accident? I dread to think of what I would have done to myself in that moment. But, that wasn't God's plan, He had something else in mind.

Sam and I have talked about "why?" it happened the way it did. We both believe the two of them were saved for a reason. Who knows, maybe I'll be the father of the President some day.

One thing I've learned is this, your REAL friends reveal themselves during tradgedy...and this community was there for me in my darkest hour. God bless you all.

This is not one of those things where you can say I know what you're going through. Most people have not gone through that.

I'm just happy that through it all you still have your wife and son. That your son still has his mom. That your wife still has her son. The rest of the garbage we may face is little stuff in comparison.

Very pleased that the worst year turned out to be the best year of your life by receiving Gods' grace. All of us are just that one phone call from our knees.....May God be with you all for years and years to come......and may your joy with your family be felt a thousand fold more by this near tragedy......and may 15 not have the trials that 14 had....

Thanks for the update BTH. Glad to hear she is recovery so well after a major brain trauma. Keep staying strong and keep her fighting. Awesome news about her driving. Amazing progress.
