FCC Will Vote on Net Neutrality in February
Thoughts?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-...-february/

Quote:President Obama's top telecom regulator, Tom Wheeler, told fellow FCC commissioners before the Christmas holiday that he intends to circulate a draft proposal internally next month with an eye toward approving the measure weeks later, said one official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the agency's deliberations are ongoing. The rules are meant to keep broadband providers such as Verizon and Comcast from speeding up or slowing down some Web sites compared to others.

If it is like the proposals we've seen from the FCC on this before ..... the real winner is the FCC itself. It is gross regulatory overreach that attempts to perform surgery with a chainsaw. Net neutrality should be a half page proposal. The FCC wants to give itself even price controls on broadband.

RE: FCC Will Vote on Net Neutrality in February
Google filed a request with the FCC this week to list broadband providers as common utilities. Right now, current regulations make it extremely difficult for Google to roll out their fiber network. Comcast,TWC, ATT, and the other major telecoms are scared shitless of Google because they don't want a truly competitive market.

Google successfully rolling out its fiber network in major cities will force them to upgrade their networks and roll back many of the policies they want put in place to suck more money out of the consumer.

If successful, this will give Google pole access. Anyone who truly cares about the internet should be rooting for Google's proposal.

The whole argument is a sham.

The end result for most Americans will be **** internet access for high, and every increasing, prices.

Ain't America Grand?

I have worked for both cable TV and phone companies and regulation actually hurts the products the end user receives. Keep voting for libs and their regulations and the services of both will get worse and more expensive.
