Based on a great novel from one of the great living authors we have. I'm excited for this one. Hope it does the book justice.

Thanks. I'm always looking for a good read. I'll get the book first.

COBRA KAI on YouTubeRed. Outstanding. Not only a great story, but also a riveting critique of how society has become so damn politically correct to its own detriment over the past 34 years.

A retired undercover agent that I know recommended this show to me, said this show is surprisingly more realistic than most cookie cutter cop shows out right now. Especially nailing the undercover house dynamic with multiple agencies having people in one location. I watched and enjoyed season 1 thus far, I haven't started watching season 2 yet. The show starts out slow but about halfway thru the season it really picks up.

Yea I made it through Season 1 this weekend and didn't know how it would continue for another Season. 5 episodes in and it's added some nice side stories. Read it was picked up for a 3rd season too.

I think I watched all of season one pretty much as it was airing and liked it, but lost track of it since then. Sounds like I should try to track down Season 2 and check it out.

Watched the first two seasons of Graceland years ago and just by chance came back and started watching season 3 with the wife and we both are enjoying the show. 2/3 of the way through season 3 and excited to finish it out.

I watched that also, for some reason it's like the third Scandinavian series I've watched on Netflix. All of them are a little weird.

RE: Netflix Suggestions
Since we're in the summer and most of my shows (Besides Archer and The Expanse) are on break I ordered HBO on my Amazon Prime to catch up on some shows.

Just finished season 1 of "The Deuce". Thought it was really good.

Finally finished the most recent season of Curb... it was funny as always, though probably the weakest season of the show.

Vice Principals is very funny at times, but no Eastbound and Down.

I think The Expanse is on amazon prime... I cannot recommend it enough... it might be my favorite show currently going.

RE: Netflix Suggestions
New to Netflix. My two teens talked me into it. Very affordable with a great array of movies and other programming. I want to recommend a documentary I watched over the weekend that was a total of 4 episodes: Evil Genius: The Story of America's Most Diabolical Bank Heist. This was a crime story that Hollywood couldn't have thought up. I've never watched something so disturbing with so many twists and turns. It was literally watching a descent into madness and evil on the part of the crime participants.

RE: Netflix Suggestions
I second the the thoughts on Evil Genius.

Anyone finish The Staircase? I’ve watched the first 3 episodes. Everyone is saying it’s better than Making a Murderer but I’m not really enthralled at this point.

Also a few episodes into Money Heist. Interested where it leads, the voice dubbing makes it kind of cheesy.

Good recommendation.

May I suggest something as disturbing and unbelievable, WILD WILD COUNTRY.

I'm really liking Dirty Money. 6 separate episodes about some really sleazy things that have been done in the business world.

On TNT, The Alienist. You can stream the entire first season. Tracking a serial killer who targets young boys.

Also on youtube free, DW (German) and Unreported World (British) are excellent channels for Docs. They do a lot of 3rd world stuff.

Bump.

Somehow I missed out on Peaky Blinders...just finished the 1st season and the beginning of the second season is excellent thus far. Great cast and excited that there are 5 seasons out there on Netflix.

04-cheers

RE: Netflix Suggestions
I just went through 11 pages to see if i mentioned this show and am very disappointed with myself. I tell anyone and everyone about this show because it is simply amazing. DARK on netflix. German show that you should watch in german with subtitles, but it does have a dub. The 2nd season has a 100% rating on rotten tomatoes. 3rd season coming in 2020

Mystery, Drama, Murder, Sci-Fy and Complete Mind *****!

Anybody watch shows on good ol' fashioned broadcast network tv anymore? I pretty much didn't aside from maybe "Survivor" or "The Amazing Race", but I really like "Evil" and kinda like "Stumptown" (though maybe mostly because of the cast especially if Donal Logue will be making regular appearances) this year. Any other fans of either or any other broadcast network shows these days?

Agree on Stumptown love the cast. The actor playing Grey is good. Have not watched Evil. Kind of scared to watch it. LOL.

For network TV, "Evil" is actually pretty scary. Kind of like the X Files but with a religion v. "science" dynamic rather than aliens/supernatural v. "science" dynamic.

The guy playing Grey is Jake Johnson. He was in "New Girl" which I occasionally watched in its early seasons. If you like low budget sci-fi he was also in a movie called "Safety Not Guaranteed" which I recall (it's been a few years since it came out in 2012) finding on a "hidden gems" type list and thinking that it lived up to that category after I watched it.

Yeah. I think the scary shows and movies that can really happen are the better ones, more scary to me. I will have to look up the "Safety" movie. Thanks for the info.
