Bowl Attendance and Numbers- USA Today Article
"Sometime in the next several years, the powerful overlords of college football finally might decide they've seen enough.
To heck with ticket sales, they might say. Instead of struggling to draw crowds to stadiums, why not just stage some of their postseason bowl games in mammoth television studios?
Even a live studio audience would be optional. All they'd really need is a network to televise the games and sponsors to buy in."

Thanks for that article.
Wow! It really shows how TV drives everything, in many more ways than I could have imagined.
Bowls played in TV sound stages? Why not? Like it says, that's essentially what's going on now. Why bother having games that require messy ticket sales, fan attendance, etc., when the goal anyway is tv ratings.
I'm old enough to remember when there were only about 8 bowls--sugar, rose, orange, cotton, sun, gator, liberty, and bluebonnet, lol

I wonder how that would affect the Sun Bowl. Which has great ticket sales (47K this year) but might go unnoticed on CBS (which used to be a huge coup).

Man, you are old. Do you not remember the game in the Roman Coliseum? Gladiators won against the Lions.
