Theyll put a minimum qualifier on it, like minimum of 6 bowl games.

That will be a good litmus test. It's always been three in the past.

Oh, they'll give it to us if we win it, but don't expect more than a 5-second mention as they return from a commercial during the late edition of SportsCenter.

Remember, ESPN does not normally carry our games and doesn't have an agreement with us. There is NO incentive for them to pimp our conference...unless you still believe in ESPN being a news program. And, frankly, if it means playing on Tuesday and Wednesday night, I'm not interested.

Not getting much love from the newspapers either. People calling the game ugly, not worth playing. I read several Illinois apologist pieces of how they should have won but just didn't finish and how Tech was just as bad but got lucky on some big plays. We will never get the credit we deserve as long as we aren't in a Mega conference. I doesn't matter really though. What matters is the sell this game did on our recruits and fan base. We win enough games next year and go bowling again, our crowd will be bigger and louder as the year before. Progress!!

There is zero chance they allow cusa to win that PRESTIGIOUS imaginary trophy.

They'll change the goalposts for sure so that banowski can't get his hands on the most coveted trophy in the history of sports.

The espn bowl cup challenge has now surpassed the Olympic gold medal as the most coveted prize in athletics today. No chance the lowly cusa is going to be declared champions of the world by the adult diaper defecating chimps who run that garbage @ss network.

Which gives us even more incentive to sign our next TV contract with NBC Sports and Fox Sports. CUSA is ESPN's red headed stepchild.

Good post. I love having you guys in the conference. Our rivalry is already heated. We just picked up where we left off during our WAC days. You guys really represented the conference well in Dallas. I'm excited about this conference, especially being that every member has so much potential and is improving. It's very exciting! To heck with the MWC and AAC. We are CUSA!

Rice games and USM games are what I look forward to the most in CUSA.

I think you are wrong about this. CUSA has been the Bowl Cup Challenge champion 2 of the last 3 years (2011, 2012). The SEC won it last year. It is minor recognition to our conference for a job well done in our bowl games.

I fully expect them to start doing just a P5 Bowl Cup and not even recognize the games played by the rest of us at all going forward.

ESPN and the CFP haven't been that brazen yet. We still hold sway right now scheduling wise. We are about ten years from all out separation. They might just downplay it to where we get no credit and it fades into history because too many G5 conferences won it.
