I just saw the takedown in OT. He let the guy in deep on the edge, and tried to roll him through. Doesn't work that way in college...

Mecate goes down 11-7. Score was much closer than the match. Port went for the major at the end and gave up a cheap TD.

yeah, too bad. it was close right up til mecate gave up those back points, then nothing went his way...I saw that VT kid you mentioned earlier at 125 waiting for the mecate match. jeske is nothing like him. he treated that NDSU kid like he was in HS.

the loses are piling up. lets hope its not contagious and dechow advances to the finals.

Wow, what a match! Dechow beats Brooks (Iowa) on an escape with 5 seconds left. Final score 6-5. Dechow will have Lorenzo Thomas of Penn tonight in the finals. FYI, Dechow is wrestling near his hometown north of Chicago. Hope he puts on a good performance tonight for the family!

We have 5 placers: Richardson (149), Warner (165), & Henderson (HWT) going for 7th & 8th; Mecate (141) going for 5th/6th; Dechow in the finals. I don't think we've ever placed that many at Midlands.
