I was a heavy Cannabis and Tobacco smoker for much of my early life. I quit both of them with relative ease...especially Cannabis. I quit Cannabis cold turkey....I weened myself off Tobacco within a couple of weeks. I tried earlier to quit cold Tobacco cold turkey and got horrible headaches.

Everyone is different. I have had friends quit with no problems and those that had horrible withdraw from Tobacco...(night sweats, headaches and panic attacks). I can't recall any serious withdraw from Cannabis that I have heard of. It is reported that Cannabis can have some minor withdrawn symptoms..but..not as pronounced as Tobacco withdraw.

nailed it....you are one of the lucky ones regarding nicotine....that shite is the scurge of the planet relative to humanity....took me a year before I stopped thinking about being a smoker...

I've never been a 24/7 cannabis user and have taken years off between periods of usage.....quitting cannabis is like tossing an old pair of sneakers in the garbage....out of all the former users I know (hardly a scientific sample, but it's good enough for me), there is only one that had a residual effect.....and it was 100% mental

Yeah it's pretty bad, but it doesn't really bother me unless a butt is burning and the smoke from it goes in my face, but that bothered me even before I quit, so did bars and clubs. Come to think of it, I hated heavy smoke in places because it always burned my eyes. But I also only smoked 1/4 to a 1/2 pack a day. On the rare occasion I'd drink a lot, I could go through an entire pack in one night. That'll make you hate cigarettes the next morning.

Even at the height of habit...I never smoked in the house or in a restaurant in respect of others. Im glad that has been banned now in NC. It is nice to sit down to dinner without that problem.

I used to run through a pack in a round of golf...along with the booze. I know what you mean.

haha! i couldn't throw away a pair of shoes. i always think i'll get around to fixing em. got a pair of new balances in the trunk of my car. need to glue my low top merrills and a pair of keens. not as free spending as i used to be.

i had no intentions of quitting smoking when i did. my father and i were enjoying a smoke on his deck last summer and his wife introduced me to vaping. i had one last weekend with the seductress in madison... indiana and that part of my life is over. still miss it a lot, especially in my car and especially in my car on the road alone. but now i take those same trips but with my wife. she used to hate it so much. all of the anxiety of having a cigarette is over and i can forget my vapor and it's not a big deal. and yeah, i couldn't imagine how i smelled to my wife after smoking a cigarette. now i do

kudos to anyone that smoked 1+ packs a day for over a year and quit (had to define it somehow)

there is a reason nicotine is sandwiched between morphine and heroin on the addictive scale....

nicotine is THAT mother-******....it's taken 70 yrs to successfully combat that evil empire to the point of decline to somewhat acceptable levels.....continual education can work over time....the same can be said regarding alcohol....

one day, the masses will understand the same regarding cannabis....whether 'they' like it or not....

high school kids will always do what high school kids do if they are not engaged in other activities.....being a responsible parent by providing information regarding ALL pros and cons is the method I choose to inform so my child has the power to understand the consequence of choice....that's the only opinion that matters to me....

So, after all this time we all still agree that pot heads and habitual pot smokers in general are still total F-ing losers.

it doesn't take a whole lot of educating the masses to say that smoking cigarettes and drinking is unhealthy. even after we're told how terrible it is, we still do it. it wasn't always like that, i give you. being a responsible parent matters most without a doubt. i don't blame cigarette companies for their product, nor i think do you really. you still know it's a bad idea the first cigarette you smoke. within a decade or two, the perception on pot will, as you've said, have been forced to change as it will be legal in almost every state.

I'll agree to your premise. I think though to be fair we need to include everyone that partakes of any substance that alters their reality or relieves pain...from Alcohol to Zydone. Users are losers....Right?03-idea

continual education is extremely important regardless of how the data plays out in any present context.....having said that, ladies and gentlemen....we have a winner....across the board correct in 'sensical' thinking

a caveat of personal foresight regarding my twisted sadistic ass.....my parents both quit when I told them I smoked (told them at 16....started at 14).....funny how things work sometimes....(I dogged them for years as a tyke.....just said fk it, and started smoking the old man's Kools.....wish I would have tried a different method, but it worked)

they are both still alive today...there were times they wished I wasn't 03-wink

the methods of well intended madness are fun to watch in my mind....
