I doubt we crack the top 25 with a win over Waste Management. If we are able to beat Mount St. Mary's and Charlotte., I think we could crack it. We'd be 12-1 with a pretty decent RPI.

Maybe. Lets see how many votes we pick up this Monday and hope that some folks ahead of us lose. If we get to 12 - 1 I think we have a very good shot. Problem is Charlotte is pretty good and the game is on the road. Not sure if any of you guys have noticed, but we've only played one true road game all season. A really tight one against a crappy GMU team. That game at Charlotte to start the CUSA season is a tough order... even worse, we start CUSA play with 3 on the road. But first things first. Beat W&M and MSM or it doesnt matter anyway.

IMO, Mason is better than the majority of us give them credit for. They won't challenge in the A-10 but take a second and look at their remaining schedule http://warrennolan.com/basketball/2015/s...orge-Mason

They have 14, not a typo, 14 TOP 100 games remaining. My guess is that they win a few, if not more of those, and help our RPI going forward.

I was at the Mason game and Mason played very well. Mason then took Northern Iowa to OT on the road. I agree we've only had only one true road game, but the Mason game was a solid win.

So some of you think folks think we are gonna jump past 10 teams if we beat William & Mary and land in the top 25? Get a grip folks. Not gonna happen.

I think we will need to get to 14-1 in order to crack the top 25.

Also let it be noted......we went 15/16 from the ft line tonight.

Been a long time since we've had that good of a % from the stripe as a team.

ODU will be dependent on the kindness of strangers, because it'll take teams losing in front of them to move up, and that's presuming someone below them doesn't score a big win and pass them by. Nothing ODU can do now will help -- at best, they'll tread water. At least the VCU win got them on the radar; without that, they probably never see the ARV group until they get near 20 wins.

Well, lets see how many teams we have to jump over after our win vs Georgia State. I think we'll be higher up than you think.

I'm a little concerned how much of ODU's offense is revolving around three point shots. When they don't fall, this team is very beatable.

Our weakness is a zone that takes away our rhythmic offense and lures into standing around and jacking threes. Our team plays better when we are the more physical team, not when everyone is standing around and staring at each other due to a zone.

William and Mary will zone us on Monday Night. We may want to bring back the press to get the intensity level up. I'm afraid they are going to zone us, then work the shot clock, which could potentially put us to sleep.

I am a little concerned about our outside shooting. When was the last good shooting performance, VCU? We MUST shoot more consistently, especially if we want to talk about cracking the top 25. Or more importantly making any kind of run in "the" tournament. I think we are overdue for a strong shooting night. At least our D has kept "us" in the games.

RE: UMES
We shot well at Mason. Have had 3 mediocre shooting games in a row, two in which Ross couldn't be a scoring threat inside. I think that has been a factor. We need him healthy. Ross being unable to attack affects our rhythm, limits our plays, and pushes the defense toward the perimeter.

I have wrestled with this for some time. I will now adopt first person perspective when discussing our team. If anyone tries to call me on it I will claim "Petey Hodge Immunity." LOL

RE: UMES
In the past I have on most occasions made significant effort to avoid using "us", "we" etc. I would instead say "ODU" or "the Monarchs". This was primarily for two reasons. First, though I am a true fan, I am not an alumnus. Second, I have always felt that saying "we", when I am not a member of the team, is somewhat presumptious on my part.

However, after reading Petey's comments, and without objection, all I can say now is -- we better be ready to hit the three-pointers if we are going to beat W&M.
