Next up, renovations to the BJCC/Legacy Arena after the C-USA basketball championship.

Legacy is fitting.

Thought the arena would have fetched a slightly higher number given the visibility and number of events. But it is an aging facility.

Tractor pulls just don't bring out the big bucks.

Aging is being nice. It's old in arena years.

Legacy needs to pull an Iron City in conjunction with this move.

Legacy IS part of the BBA. They should also definitely pull out of there! UAB needs ONE Birmingham Bank on its side for any sort of effective sponsorship in the future!

Just about all, or perhaps all, the various credit unions around B'ham have changed their names as a part of updating their business image. I guess they want to appeal to a broader customer base than they started up with years ago.

I did not know that until you just mentioned it here. I have an account with Legacy, but not for long.

Kind of curious, just the same, if this is any kind of component or prelude leading to something bigger, like the long-awaited MPF announcement? I seem to recall reading an article back in the summer about Mayor Bell stating that a major announcement about the facility was scheduled or planned for mid to late December.

Before you get all knotted up about Legacy, they changed their name from University Credit Union almost 10 years ago in conjunction with opening membership to anyone in Jefferson or Shelby County instead of being restricted to just UAB employees.
