PBJ has an extensive web of liars and cheats to call on anytime he needs a favor. Bill Carr appears to be one of them. It should be obvious that this whole "independent consultant" sham was engineered to counter negative publicity.

The only reason Watts was ever appointed to be UAB's president is b/c PBJ knew he wanted to shut down the football program and divert money to the medical side and thus would be an easily manipulated ally.

Hmm...so the plan all along was to use Carr to hire what we thought would all be great coaches was to gain our trust so that they could later be used to drop the hammer?

My question is in the history of CarrSports, has their services provided, ever resulted in termination of any college football program?

I was under the impression that CarrSports data is used by clients to bolster and improve their athletic programs.

That's all relative. If you ask Watts, he says that he is improving our athletics.

Consultants are hired to tell you what you want to hear.

Carr isn't the villain here. They are just the weapon of the hitman.

I would love to have a beer with Mackin and ask him. Maybe 4-5 to get an answer.

FBHC Clark's 6-6 record (and coming very close to 8-4) in his first season was probably a total surprise to the BOT leadership. It's a guess, but it might just be that if Clark had gone 2-10 like his predecessors we might still have a football program. The BOT has only played "Whack a Mole" on UAB FB in the past when UAB experienced some modest degree of success in record or in hiring coaches.

I believe Watt's actions are based on his boss's belief that the worst state funding from the SETF is still ahead so for the sake of medical-side funding, football had to be eliminated (which matched up well with what the BOT wanted all along). The priority for the BOT is to NEVER touch Athletic Department funding at Bama so they can continue to spend $200,000+ annually per athlete to attract the best of out of state players in order to keep the FB records bright even if they have to nearly double the 2008 tuition levels over the next few years.
