Nothing says small time like losing a very young OC ... if we can't keep him who are we going to get?
Guys, his mentor just got a head coaching job near his hometown.... not a doom and gloom story for JMU's ability to hire anyone...
I am all for working for your buddy...I called it at the beginning of this thread.
I am bummed that we didn't do anything to keep him which is a further sign that there is nothing brewing for JMU to FBS right now.
We will release another study / strategic plan and will continue to monitor.
I am sure JMU did something to try to keep him, but obviously it wasn't enough. I'm not sure his home town thing is a big deal. Anybody ever been to Houston? It sucks. And, it would be different if he was going there as an OC but the receivers coach? Eh, I feel really small timed by that situation.
Yea, Houston is the city of urban sprawl. Nasty.
But it has it's nice parts, I guess.
Isn't Galveston suppose to be an okay place? How far is it from the school?

The Gulf Coast is a couple hours drive away (which by Texas standards is close), and Houston does have its nice areas....particularly the Museum district. And Beef BBQ and TexMex. It's livable...not that I'd wanna live there, but it beats DFW IMO.

Thanks for sharing. That had been the inside scoop on Texas blogs for about a month, but until now not confirmed.

Every major metro area has its urban sprawl and ghettos. If you're going to call Houston's nasty, may as well say that about every top 10 metro area (not that I would disagree because I don't like urban sprawl (I am living in it now)).
And yes it does have its nice areas.
