Th "coaching carousel" is getting into full speed and there are several plum jobs awaiting the right guy. For our players who have choices, it is also the time of year for transfers - especially those who can play right away. Good luck to them all.

They have to strike while the iron is hot. If they wait it out the spots that are open for them now may disappear around signing day.

I hate it for the guys. They have been screwed over. I am ashamed to be affiliated with an organization that would do this to them.

Vanderbilt would be perfect unless football is saved at the 12th hour.

According to Marshall's rivals site Jordan Howard will be visiting Huntington and Jake Ganus is deciding between Marshall and UGA.

If Ganus lands at UGA I might have to actually support them for a while.

I'd go see him. I live about 25 minutes from Athens.

UAB RB Jordan Howard has canceled his #Badgers official visit this weekend because of the coaching change. Visiting Notre Dame instead

You would be in good company to root for the Dawgs, with or without Jake. The only time I've ever rooted against UGA was when we played them, and should have beat them once over there in Athens.

It's tough seeing our guys get picked up "bigger teams" because it speaks to the talent level we were building here.

Yep, it's hard to ignore the conspiracy theory that the BOT was afraid we was about to be really good so they had to shut us down.

RE: Player watch
The pressure is on those who want to play elsewhere to make their move during the holidays so they will be in their new school for the spring semester and be in place for spring practice there. Being available with no "sit out" season may give them a leg up as their new staff figures on new recruits for February's NSD. If they can pick up a proven player from UAB, it may enable them to be more choosy about who they must gamble on as regular freshmen or even some JUCOs.

I suspect that a majority of the 85 at UAB will stay here and plan on graduating using their athletic scholarships to pay their way. Since there will be no new talent coming in each year, they don't have to concern themselves with being "cut" in favor of new players.

RE: Player watch
If they enroll in January, the schools can count them toward last season's recruiting totals if they didn't sign the max. That would allow some schools to sign "more" than the max this season. I'm sure there are a few schools who want commitments now so they can use that loophole for players who have already played d1 ball.

I doubt that. First, some of the 85 have graduated or will in the spring. Of the remainder, I bet very few of them will be at UAB in August. Most will be gone in January.
