Nice game for Baze, but the Hawks can't win when he is their second leading scorer, their top scorers were off tonight.

Grantland had a feature story on the Hawks that included this about Baze:

Off the bench, Kent Bazemore, Dennis Schroder, and Mike Scott, none of whose names ever was spluttered on television by Dick Vitale during their college days, not only have become valuable contributors, they are legitimately pushing the nominal starters. (Bazemore, especially, is improving game by game.)

Bazemore, like most guys, needs consistent play. As that has come lately, his game has improved.

Baze with 10 pts, 3 Rebs, and 1 blk in 14 minutes as Atlanta trails Toronto 45-49 at the half.

The Hawks beat the Bucks today 97-86. KB played 22 min. scoring 4 pts. on 2-4 shooting, 6 reb., 3 assts., 2 steals, 2 blocks, 0 t/o. Solid line.

Took a look and over the past 10 games, Baze is averaging 26.9 minutes per game with 7.9 points (on 47.6% shooting), 4.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.6 blocks. Looks like he's secured a pretty solid spot in the rotation. Will be fun to watch him come playoff time.

The bench on NBA teams tighten up during the playoffs, hope he stays in the rotation. The NBA game is totally different in the playoffs, compared to the reg season. The team ride their star players much more.

Completely agree but since late January, it appears Kent has been 6th or 7th on the team in minutes almost every night. Certainly a good sign at least (especially compared to earlier this season).

It all corresponds to Sefalosha being injured and out for 2 months. Baze has certainly seized his opportunity the last couple of weeks and will most certainly maintain his rotation spot when Sefalosha returns.

His defense will get him on the court in crunch time in the playoffs. Don't know how many offensive touches he will get though.

that last # is key for him I think. as long as he doesn't turn the ball over and does every thing else on that list like that he won't lose his current role any time soon and that includes the playoffs.

Baze started and had 15 pts in 35 minutes of play in the Hawks 93-91 win versus the Heat.

Dude is making his dream happen. Well done!!

And had a highlight slam and a great steal last night.

Watched his little brother some last night in the CIAA game, moves the same way as Kent.
