Curt does an awesome job providing an excellent product. It is too bad that his work is now unwatchable.

It is ironic that I was able to watch perfectly the Stoney Brook football game with the worse camera work I have ever tried to view.

My live viewing is pretty much where yours is, though I have been able to get the least amount of buffering when using my android Moto X phone (its actually watchable on this device as long as I don't mind such a small screen). On the other hand, my On Demand viewing is good. I don't understand why such a difference between my live event experience and my On Demand service reception. I've used every browser / computer combination available to me ( I do not have any Apple products). Like Middle-Aged-Duke, I have absolutely no issue with any other live stream nor did I have any issue with the Neulion service.

My On Demand viewing is as ineffective as live broadcast. I wonder how widespread the problem?

Last year I was able to get Madizone perfectly.

RE: MBB Game 7: Campbell (1-4) at James Madison University (4-2)
In regards to the win: that's the kind of game the Dukes lose in year's past. I have been impressed with the teams resilience this year, they were down 17-4 about 7 minutes into the game (and after 6+ TOs). For them to battle back and take an 8 point lead at half was a sign of a mentally strong team. We'll see how this stands against some teams of better skill and more maturity. As many on here have said before, the game against Richmond should be a true litmus test for this team. I'll have to be honest, I am more confident in this team than I probably should be...

In regards to Madizone: I run into a lot of issues when I try to stream the game with my laptop. Oddly enough, I have much better luck using my phone. Unsure where the disconnect is, but the constant stuttering and freezing makes these games more difficult to watch than they already are.

There is no rhyme or reason to Madizone. I have had issues with it many times, but last night it worked perfectly for me.

RE: MBB Game 7: Campbell (1-4) at James Madison University (4-2)
I've got a MacBook Pro and it generally works beautifully until this year. I wrote to Curt Dudley a couple of games ago and last night's game came in well (just a couple of pauses).

Last night's game was ugly to say the least. Team got down 15-4 (something like that) and then had a 16-0 spurt of their own. Team looked tired to me, especially in the second half. Brady needs to develop his bench more. You can see that Brady is trying to school Hall in the right way to play. He comes into the game and has a guy put a spin move on him on the baseline to allow an easy score and Hall turns it over in the lane and that was it for him for the night. The only way Hall is going to develop is that he's got to play. If this team is going to become anything, then Hall needs to part of it.

Dalembert continues to play very solid ball. Nation has all sorts of ability but needs to get in better shape, as Brady has pointed out. Grays quietly contributes, although he'll have one or two bad turnovers a game. Grays, though, is very good in the midrange game....I think he'll only get better going forward despite being undersized and not the most athletic guy on the court.

Kent's confidence has been shaken of late and he's got to learn to finish at the rim.

Team needs to clean up turnovers and defensive breakdowns.

17 assists on 23 field goals is a good sign.

I don't see this team beating Richmond on Sunday unless they play markedly better. Should be interesting in any event.

BSKB, you are very well connected. Please help! Curt has been so gracious to me and I sense his frustration. I do believe Stretch has made a few attempts to bring satisfaction to the computers/tablets/phones of its viewers, but no one wants to take ownership of the situation and get it figured out.

I have even had Stretch send me a link to other live broadcasts for schools/teams who are not in our conference and it is exactly the same unwatchable stream. For example, they sent me a link to a soccer game at the University of Northwestern Ohio. That game had an equally horrible stream. This proved to me that it was nothing that JMU or the CAA was doing to the broadcast to cause all of the problems.

Last week I even asked Stretch to view it themselves, they refused. They would only state that everything was working perfect on their end and wanted me do go through a lot of bu!!$h!!. I asked them what their internet/download speed was that they were viewing the broadcast through. I asked what type of computer they were using to view our game. I asked what browser they were using. They didn't respond to my questions, which tells me they were not viewing the game. They only take a look at some numbers coming from their system and then say its all good on their end. I call bu!!sh!!

RE: MBB Game 7: Campbell (1-4) at James Madison University (4-2)
I think that the major problem most people have with Stretch is that when it works it is fine. It is just so intermittent that you never know what you
are going to get from game to game or even minute to minute in a game. I have watched some games where it started out OK and then 10 or so minutes in it started to stutter, freeze and lock up to the point where you could not watch it. Other times it has been that was from the git go and when I came back later, like last night, it was fine. Just so incredibly frustrating. I am sure there are many people who would like to watch the games but can not or won't due to the issues with the stream. What makes this all so frustrating is that in previous years Neulion was fine.

Sometimes, I guess, newer or better ain't.

Agree, we were spoiled, in that something worked as it is suppose to work. I just feel that if anyone would take ownership, and say there is a problem, now let's work to fix it, but they refuse to accept that they have an issue. I do remember back before we had Neulion, Madizone was horrible, horrible, horrible. What made it even worse back in those days, we had to pay for it. But, to me it doesn't matter who is footing the bill, if its crap then its crap.

Cent, I too have some success using my phone. But in the evening, at home, sitting down on the couch, I have no desire to stare at my phone for two and a half to three hours.

Can't speak for last night because i was there, but I watched the game last wednesday afternoon with no problems on Madizone. Pretty basic PC with chrome but the internet speed is usually pretty fast.

Coaches mentioned last night pregame that of all the teams in the tournament Campbell would be the toughest (sans Ohio St) and we shouldn't let the fact that Campbell lost all their games to teams we beat on the scoreboard fool us. They weren't kidding. I'm not quick to give praise to the men's program very often, but i'm seeing a lot of good team efforts coming out of these guys and I like that I'm seeing such things i've never seen from Brady's squads before. If we could stay healthy and just knock down free throws, the rest of the game is coming together I think.

i don't think we've played a game yet against a true measuring stick yet though.

the teams have either been well above us (UVa, Ohio St), or what I would consider well below us (everyone else) because we played them all at home.

so our record is exactly what i would expect it to be right now.

the true tests will be the next couple games. Home against Richmond. Road against East Carolina.

after that, we'll have a real good assessment of what this team is, and what it can become.

I do not think the viewing issues have anything to do with the Madizone production - its stretch. Maybe its a bandwidth issue? That might leave StretchMarks 03-cool

I seem to have best success when I am on a Chrome desktop browser with hardwired Ethernet connection, but have problems on both Chrome mobile (phone, less-so) and Safari (iPad, almost every time I try to stream from Stretch). Chrome on a computer with WiFi usually works, but with breaks and on a delay.

I'm really not having any issues with the On Demand product its the live where my issues lie.

Earlier in the season, On Demand was bad but a month or so it started working good. Other than taking 16 minutes to come on, but I can live with that as I just slide it forward. When I say the On Demand was bad, it buffered horribly back in Sept. I simply could not watch the Monday luncheons. But that seems to be fixed.

My only issue is with Live.

Hard to find in the Quad and you may have to fight long lines, but definitely worth the effort.

We enjoyed the Sugar Factory. Huge, smoking drinks, fairly cheap food for Vegas, and if you sit outside there's a perfect view of the Bellagio fountains. Chicken and waffles were amazing.
