I'm sure the vast majority of the Blazernation will adopt this response to any future calls of support from UAB: "It will be a cold day in Hell before I ever give a dime to UAB again."

I'm still down with the idea of taking all our UAB gear and burning it on watts front lawn if this happens.

I'm done with Birmingham. Met some great people, but except for a select few I think most of the people I'll see again are also through with Birmingham.

What a shame, what a shame. And I must say UAB was very helpful to me.

I SAY WE USE THE FOUNDATION MONEY AND DONATIONS AND SUE IN FEDERAL COURT. SURELY SOME RULES HAVE BEEN BROKEN. I KNOW SOMEONE SAYS THE BOT CANNOT BE SUED, BUT WHAT ABOUT WATTS, MACKIN, INDIVIDUALS. GET SACS INVOLVED. WE ALL KNOW WHAT SCUM THE BOT IS AND WHAT A JUDAS WATTS AND MACKIN ARE. FORCE THEM AND BOT MEMBERS TO GO ON THE RECORD WITH THEIR VOTE. BRING TO LIGHT THE MAKEUP OF THE BOARD(5 MEMBERS THAT WORK FOR PBJ AT BRYANT BANK HAS GOT TO BE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST IN ITSELF). THE GUY IS SCUM THAT IS STILL LIVING OFF HIS DADDY'S NAME. Cthulhu willing, it won't have to happen.

But if it does, give some of us out of towners enough time to box up some stuff and send it to the bonfire. Y'all can roast a hotdog and some marshmallows on our behalf.

I know I will be completely done with college football and will cease all funds to UAB period. I might buy a ticket to see us play a regular season basketball game vs UT-Martin or a baseball game vs JSU but that is about it.

Gene Bartow's dream and legacy will be completely destroyed.

I think you start club football immediately if this goes through. And then bide your time to restructure the board and then start over. If you start over what you have going for you is a nice sized Southern city in a recruiting hotbed. So you could easily make the quick climb back. Well not easily, but no harder than any of the newbies.

Not that simple. We are already in the bottom rungs of fbs. Without their damn meddling, we would be in the AAC right now. If we have to restart, where do we go? The sun belt? I thought the damage was done when the screwed U.S. out of the AAC. Now we all know that wasn't enough for some of them.

I don't know if federal court is an option. BUT we (as in boosters, players and coaches) were clearly lied to by the AD and others in administration and they happily took our money this past year as boosters. Folks that's clearly illegal.

Sadly the UAB I attended is gone. We were the Blazers for a reason and what we learned about standing up to a challenge and never quitting no matter how tough the road can not be taken away from us. Now we can only take what we learned and use it to improve places that are not the dead zone like UAB has become.

I shall do some research on this later, but I'm curious how this works from an IRS standpoint. The university is tax-exempt, and donations to it are generally held to be deductible. If a tax-exempt organization explicitly misleads donors in order to solicit funds, could there be a mechanism for punishment there?

Food for thought.

Its survival mode now if the death penalty call comes. Gotta plan what's next.

Don't expect to get much sympathy from the NPR folks for ending a football program. They will probably frame it as some enlightened move by forward thinking university administrators.

Hopefully someone over at WBHM has by now realized that the station is owned by UAB, and doesn't turn a profit.

I wouldn't expect others especially out of staters to truly understand the fight & it'd take a full semester class on it for them to understand that it's not just about football
