I don't think any of is believe we would move to a better basketball conference. The a10 is not realistic, I'd be okay with the mvc if it came to that, but other than those two our options suck.

They were planning to sell the "most exciting era in UAB athletics" history as us being a basketball and soccer powerhouse in some mythical conference that wouldn't be a step down from anything FBS. It was a panic reaction when the plans for football were sniffed out.

This. It's not just football that has it's head on the chopping block folks.

Alright, this all makes more sense now. I knew this was all coming, I wasn't sure that it had already began though.

And there is nothing exciting about soccer and basketball in the southern conference. I just cannot understand that logic at all.
