Post Season B-

Overall - Round up to a B.

Thats about right. Might give the post season a C+. Hard to give a B- when you lose opening round game at home..

Nobody mentioned him, but besides some of the BS targeting penalties I think that Aaron Peak improved drastically as the season went on. Dean's shoes will be hard to fill, but it'll be nice having somebody as the helm of the D that has had some game experience.

I too liked Peak's progress. I wonder though, how long Withers will stay with a 5'9" safety. He seems to like players to be a "prototypical" size and has mentioned that specifically about the corners and TEs. I don't care if a guy is built like Dominique White as long as he gets the job done.

I also thought Aaron Peake played well this year. As far as a 5'9" safety, Pat Fischer was the same size and played at a fairly high level in the NFL for 17 or so years. Seems to me that these days everyone evaluating talent gets too hung up on height, weight, speed etc and tend to overlook if the guy can simply play. Looks like Aaron did that this year.

Have a 5'9" safety try to provide help on a fade being thrown properly to a Daniel Brown type of receiver. The safety will be of absolutely no help, particularly since he can't pop the WR without getting called for targeting.

I was about to argue your point until I got to the last part of your statement and sadly I can't argue with you. The game just isn't what it used to be. All those targeting penalties this year really took a lot of fun out of some games for me. I was just like "What sport am I watching, here?". I'm all for player safety but they've gone way over the top with it.

Depends on the 5'9 safety ability, I wouldnt say that type of safety would be no help 04-rock Play the ball and you should be fine , when your making a hit on that type of play your late and will prolly lose that battle.

The bright side...
A 5'9 safety can't play the ball on a jump ball to a 6'5 receiver... Again, if thrown properly
