Bigger Transfer Bust?
Who was the bigger bust of the FBS to FCS transfers...?

Alden Hill or Sean Tapley

I'm going Tapley. Never seen such a big drop in minutes for a WR before. How can't you beat out Andre Coble...

RE: Bigger Transfer Bust?
True Coble and Hill were both bust clearly. But I have to say that Hill was the biggest. He doesn't even see the field. I mean how do you go from SEC to benched in the CAA

So it serves to call out our players?

You can be salty without calling out the guys who put the bodies and hearts on the line.

Thats what people tend to do on here though.

And he must be new because JMU always gets ita share pf transfers who just dont pan out. Nothing new.

Weren't we picked to finish like 6th or 8th or something like that in the CAA? I'm disappointed with today, the way we've been playing I really felt like we could make a big playoff run here... Nowhere near disappointed with the season as a whole though, extremely happy to see the Dukes do so well so soon under Withers. Can't wait for next season.

And just like that I am reminded why I only check the boards once a month. Oh well, back to the pattern I guess. Stay classy San Diego.

RE: Bigger Transfer Bust?
At beginning of the season were 14 I-A transfers on roster, 10 brought in by Withers. Of those 10, starting @ Maryland:
-Vad Lee
-Nick Appel
-AJ Bolden
-Sean Tapley
-Xavier Gates

Started vs Liberty:
-Vad Lee

I dont see the problem with having a discussion about what transfers panned out and which ones didnt... if you dont like the subject, cant you just not post instead of hijacking the thread into some morality discussion about whether or not its ok to criticize student athletes regarding their athletic performance.

With that said, some of them certainly were a disappointment. I think tapley was pushed out based on depth and players with simular skills. Personally, I'd like to see them continue scouting the transfer pipeline. For every Tapley, there is a Vad Lee.

Kinda wonder if Coach Withers is scouting some of the UAB players as possible transfers?

Brian

I was thinking the same thing. But with immediate eligibility granted by the NCAA to players (as opposed to a normal FBS transfer), most of them will likely prefer to go to an FBS school. You can bet every FBS coach in the country is watching Blazer film right now if they didn't already have a GA on it a week ago when word was leaking.

More like for every 10 Tapleys there is a Vad Lee....
