Liberty and FBS
Let's be honest -
If liberty, with this being their first ever playoff game, and at in state rival JMU less than 2 hours from their campus can't bring more than 2,000 fans on a beautiful Saturday afternoon - they are nowhere near ready to support an FBS team
No excuses liberty fans -most of our fans will drive 2+hours to get to this game on thanksgiving weekend as well .
Tickets are available-no excuse there.
Guess we'll see tomorrow what liberty will really look like in their first live audition for FBS.
If this game were at liberty, JMU would have 7,000 or more depending on ticket availability .

I think Liberty will bring 2-3k which is good for a visiting FCS school.

The way they were talking I thought they'd be bringing 5-7k.

I highly doubt that. It would be quite impressive if they did, but if that were the case the crowd would be close to 50/50. I think it'll be more like 85/15.

I think 1-2k for a parochial school is good. I think they should be happy to finally make the playoffs....

I really expected more out of their fan base. I thought they would easily bring 5k. I guess all the talk of their fan support is just that, talk.

I would guess Liberty will have around 2,500-3,000 there. That's a solid turnout to an away game.

If you bring that many that's pretty darn good on a holiday weekend for a visiting team. That would be more than any other team that visited JMU this year. If you have fans in our sections you will be treated to streamer rain all game long.

I was told the allotment of 1600 was gone early this am and that the LU ticket office has been taking calls all day today on how to buy them through JMU. Personally I'm glad my kids and I are in the LU section. haha. I am glad JMU is going with Black, Purple clashes with Red.

If this were a Round 2 game I think we could have brought as many as 10k. Sadly it fell on a holiday weekend with our students spread over the continent. 2-3k is what I would expect today based on the circumstances. But I could be pleasantly surprised.

If this were a round two game, the JMU students would all be back. There would not be room for your 10k.

Probably not related, but does anyone hate watching JMU games on MadiZone? You can't hear the fans at all or the atmosphere of Bridgeforth. You just hear the commentators and it makes it feel like I'm watching a golf tournament on CBS.

Madizone with Gary McCord and David Ferhity would be awesome.

LU's turn-out looked great! The "Blackout" looked good too, what there was of it...just needed more JMU fans in attendance.

Truce Longhorn. You have a great program and great fan support. 13k was certainly respectable for attendance with the weather and students away. LU estimate was 2k. I commend your program and all your fans passion for their team. Good luck to the program in the future. It is very bright with the team you have.

LU showed up. Not huge, but way better than anyone else in the watered down FCS.
