Don't put words in their mouths. You do not know the conclusion of this mess.

Their silence has gotten pretty loud.

The UAB 9's letter is pretty damn damning, at least to me, and I've wanted to believe Watts and Mackin were committed to football for about as long as anybody here.

I'll wait to judge until the study concludes publicly. If they're not supportive, then I'll cast my displeasure towards them.

Just remember that they could have nipped this in the bud weeks ago.

If everyone had taken that stance, there would be no hope at all for football's future. Again, head in the sand. Amazing.

Even if both backtrack & get all on board, doesn't mean that they weren't up to something.

I don't see how Mackin could be supporting UAB by telling the women's coaches to clamor up. I just didn't see any way a positive outcome could have come without them speaking up.

100% fact. I don't care what the study says........they can twist the numbers to their benefit at will.

Attacking those who don't reach the same conclusion you do does no one any good. But it has been the MO of some all along.

There's a lot of things that are unclear and will be taken care of one way or another when this concludes. Do we really know Mackin and Watts' roles in this? Good or bad? That will be determined after Southern Miss. One thing that is clear, is the BOT's track record and we are voicing our opinion towards them.

I don't believe Watts has talked to Clark since the photo op during the hiring & I think Clark is a stand up coach & person.

I guess we'll find out when all the facts come out. Should be soon.

RE: Coach Bill Clark's Thanksgiving Tweet
Clark requested a meeting with Watts and met with him on November 9 to ask him wtf was going on. Watts told him to "be patient."

Once the plot was foiled, they should have come clean. It would've been much better for them to say "Yeah, we're killing football, what of it?" rather than implicitly stab everyone who works for UAB Athletics in the back repeatedly over the past three weeks.

Add to it the turf field/IPF project being declined or rejected for now.

I don't see any way that Watts could have been on our side.

There is a slim chance or two that would give us belief that Mackin was.

However the shut up referendum to the women's coaches seem quite damaging.

It's obvious we as fans have kicked and screamed, and have received no answers. I'm sure we'll kick and scream a lot more when this study concludes, if it's not in our favor. We're obviously at the point where we wait and see. And by wait and see, we wait and see who we complain about.

If I had to guess, this "study" will fall by the wayside at least in regards to athletics, etc.

If their goal all along is what it seemed to be, I don't see how they could come up with some crap response all of a sudden that football is justified.

I think this pretty much gives us a reason to believe the whole study was a farce.

They met on a Sunday following the La Tech game to discuss the "study." This was a forced meeting after the B Club exposed the plot to silently kill the program following the season.

By the way, nearly a dozen assistant coaches and support staff have their contracts expiring in nearly 30 days. They came to UAB believing we were building a program - It hurts me to think that our institution may have intentionally misled so many. If you get a chance, send them a tweet and/or message and let them know the actions of a small few do not reflect who we are at UAB.

So, for those that are counting, Dr. Watts met with him only once since his hiring. By the way, Dr. Watts also never responded to invitations to speak to the team or even called HCBC to tell him congratulations after several notable wins. If you are HCBC, you are really feeling the love of your administration. Our greatest danger has never been the BOT - Our greatest danger was incompetency. Fortunately, it is this same incompetency that left enough clues lying around to discover their evil plan.

I'll go ahead and post this for Grammar-Nazi! http://www.fireraywatts.com
