RE: 2014 FCS Playoffs - Game 1 Predictions: Liberty at James Madison
question is who runs the clock? is it an impartial 3rd ref or a possible questionable handsy hometown clock operator? don't want the same thing to possibly happen here as what happened last week.

it was a good season boys. We should start looking forward to next year. Maybe we can sneak in to the playoffs again. Hopefully we'll get a better match up in 2015.
So how do you think the LU fans feel as you go over to that board, some of you posters are officially drunk at the bar with your predictions. some of the remarks are just flat out disrespectful and can't be from any sort of real football perspective

Our D gets better every game. In the last 4 weeks, it has given up an average of 128 yards and .75 TDs on the ground. Your boys will not fair any better than Richmond did against us. Less than 100 yards rushing, no TDs, and plenty of Bridgeforth dirt to eat.
You do know that you gave up over 100 to a Richmond RB correct, lol

If they can force us into a few three and outs and punting situations early, they'll keep us from running away with it. If they can't and fall behind 14-0 or 14-3 early, I think it's the ball game.
Ever since that 4th quarter against W&M, I feel like everyone's had a hard time stopping the offense. If Liberty's able to find a way to crack that, they'll be successful.
The way LU beat Coastal was time of possession. For LU to win is to win the time with the ball. That will limit the number of plays JMU can run and keep their high powered offense off the field. LU was able to establish the run against Coastal. I know JMU is not Coastal but LU'so game plan needs to be the same.
As an LU fan I'm pulling for them. If the game was at Williams stadium I'd pick LU. Away favors JMU. Contrary to what others have said this will be a close game.
Everyone has tried to control the ball and limit our offense from getting the ball. It hasn't worked. The officials even tried to slow us down at Richmond and it didn't work. The only thing Liberty will likely win is time of possession. We have lost in the category almost every game if not every game. We don't need the offense on the field long to strike. Our defense bends some but not anything like we saw early in the season. It will be difficult to run on us with our front 4. You will get some running yards but we've shut down most top running backs all year long, especially at home.
You do know your Rush defense is ranked #85 in the country, giving up nearly 200 per game, right? They've also given up 22 tds on the ground. And they will not only have to stop DJ Abnar, but with Josh back, Masha will be running a lot as well.
yea you need to check your own stat book yall gave up over 100 to the last cpl backs yall faced, so yea I would say that we would love to see your front 4, lol

Richmond ran to end the damn game when down by 4 scores.
Stats don't say everything. SBU runs the perfect O to beat JMU. Are ya'll a power I smash mouth team? If yes, you will give our D trouble.

RE: 2014 FCS Playoffs - Game 1 Predictions: Liberty at James Madison
I needed to revise my official prediction since the Vegas line went up.
JMU 107
LU 2
LU demanded that one of our touchdowns become a safety since we were in their endzone. The refs first flag Marlowe for targeting on the sideline when he bumped heads with an offensive player after we scored the Touchdown. Once he was ejected, they referred to the replay and confirmed that we had in fact been in their endzone and ruled it a safety. Duke Dog eats ref and the crowd rejoices.

You do know your team lost, at home, to Richmond, a team JMU destroyed by 35 points, at Richmond?
If LU finishes the game within 2 scores of JMU all Flame fans can count the contest as a moral victory, but that's the best the Flames can hope to accomplish.

Heck, Falwell gave up over 100 yards to two different backs for Division II, one-win Brevard College, who rolled for 392 rushing yards on the Libs. Forget that Brevard is Div II for a minute and has only 705 students, less than most high schools, and sure they only had one win all season, but it was against a really tough online school that has only had a football program for two years, and yeah, Brevard hung 31 points on the Fighting Falwells, 17 of which were in the second quarter, so it was definitely NOT garbage points, but, hey, they ultimately pounded Brevard High into submission.

we get it.
you guys have never been in this position before, so you are a little bit sensitive and are begging hard for respect.
kind of like you are begging for a Sun Belt invite. I see a trend here

Yes, that is a formation that we would use, the question is how much, that I can't answer

I can answer the question for you. How much I-formation, smash-mouth alignment will LU use against JMU? Simple answer; Not enough to win. Not that it will make any difference.

you'll need to keep the game very close, otherwise you'll be scrapping that I formation in favor of heavy passing formations. then watch out for our pass rush who will tee off on the QB.

If anyone plays Streak for the Cash on ESPN the JMU/LU game is on there to be picked tomorrow. I'll be interested to see what random people that usually don't pay attention to FCS choose.
