Interesting - opening line has the Tribe favored by 4.5.

Here's the link to watch on Saturday (FB game on TV/BB game on the computer - great combo), should you desire.

RE: Rice
The Head Coach at Rice is new to the job in March 2014. His name is Mike Rhodes and before Rice he was Assoc HC at VCU for several years. Before VCU he was Head Coach at Randolph-Macon for 10 years and regularly competed against Coach Shaver when Tony was HC at Hampton Sydney.

Good question. Let's hope so. The Tribe needs some connections in the lone star state. Am reading a riveting article about Texas and football in current issue of ESPN the magazine.

I don't believe this is a home and home with Rice. Coach Shaver was quoted earlier this year
at the season ticket holders pre-season event as saying it was one of our three "money" roag games...the others being UNC and Florida.

We can't get anyone to come play in Kaplan (especially when we're decent).

Not sure that is accurate, at least the "money" part. Rice averaged about 1,000 fans LESS per game than W&M last year.

I don't know but wouldn't be surprised if this was H/H.

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but I still am compelled to say that lack of home games against higher level conference teams is hogwash. Other teams find a way and I'm not sure why we can't. JMU this year hosted UVA. ODU and GMU have both hosted big games while in the CAA. I seem to remember a few years ago Charleston Southern hosted Southern Cal in what I believe was a 1,000 seat field house.

I remember we hosted VT my freshman year, 1997. I can't recall anyone coming to the Hall since then.

I'm waiting for the day when Richmond cancels their home and home series with us.

Agreed on the possibilities. We may have to agree 1 for 3 or even 1 for 4 - but you can find games, even Tech.

At the rate UR is going, I think that threat has passed. VCU entering the A10 is killing them.

Total side trip...

I didn't realize that you and I came in to W&M the same year. No wonder we seem to align pretty well on a lot of our Tribe opinions/knowledge 03-wink.

Tribe has gone cold from 3, now 3 of 10. Thornton not hitting. Rice up 24 -23.

Nice 3 by Thornton to close the half up 38-30 -- hope he gets hot after halftime.
