CAA tourney ticket options
It looks like I will be going to Baltimore this year for the men's hoops tournament. I keep getting the e-mails from the CAA about tickets. I attended at least 20 tourneys in Richmond, but went to the SoCon tourney the last 3 seasons in Asheville.
For those who went last year, what are the best ticket options?
I go to all of the games, I'll show up for the Friday games even if the Tribe and the Dukes aren't playing.
Are ticket books from W&M the way to go? They used to be pretty decent seats in Richmond.
The SoCon had a VIP ticket package that I used to purchase. It was a great deal, for less than $100 over the regular ticket book price you got assigned seats in the first few rows at mid-court, that they actually policed the whole tourney, as well as access to the VIP room for food and drinks before all games, at halftime and in between games in a session. I don't consume adult beverages anymore, but the food and cokes were worth way more than $100.
In Richmond, I didn't think you could purchase the VIP room stuff, unless you bought one on the street, and the food was never that great. In Asheville, they had local restaurants provide full meals.
Also, what hotels are really close and do they all rape you on parking?

W&M has not released basketball tourney info yet. I just received info about the football playoffs yesterday.
Info on CAA Basketball tourney will probably be released in Feb

How were the seats purchased through the school last year? Were they assigned and in the lower level?

I went last year and purchased through W&M.
The way the CAA tourney works is that the sections get assigned to each school based on order of finish. So, in theory, the #1 seed has the best seats.
That being said, all of the team seats are in the lower level. I have Richmond engrained in me so much it's hard to think of the specifics of the Baltimore arena, but from what I remember that the lower bowl seats were all perfectly good seats.
In the new CAA, tbh, there's plenty of room to move around if you don't like your seat as well.
I've always purchased ticket books through the school. This guarantees that you have seats around like minded individuals. If you decide you want a different view, outside of the most popular games (which really don't exist anymore), you can shift around if you want a different sight line.

Agree on above, the seats were all fine - and you probably do want to order through W&M.
The arena itself is a bit dingier than the RC - though the surroundings better. There are tons of hotels within walking distance along with the Inner Harbor.
