I don't think it was executive order. I think they called it the Simpson-Mazzoli bill that passed congress. Reagan agreed to legalize 3,000,000 Mexicans if congress agreed to pass a bill strengthening the border.

We'll, the Mexicans were legalized, but the Dems went back on their promise to Reagan and never strengthened the border. They lied.

So Republicans won't be fooled that way again. The border must be taken care of first, before any talk of a path to citizenship.

Not exactly. They acted on the back of properly passed laws and issued executive orders that worked in conjunction with those laws and with the support of congress. Obama is using his previous executive order that postponed deportations as a basis for this action, and without backing from congress ans in pretty much direct opposition to what the American public wants. Big differences.

No other POTUS has done anything close. Reagan had support from Congress.

This will not end well for BHO.

I don't understand the politics of this. You think it would be more beneficial to keep the Republicans twisting in the wind. Not doing anything about illegals but keep bashing the GOP with it. That would be the practical angle. Heck let the new congress come up with something. I'm not understanding the calculus here.

How can you not see it. All the exit polls showed that a majority of voters in the midterms were against this executive action by Barry and wanted a plan worked out between him and the Congress. Well, Barry is like a little child and he is pissed at America for the midterms and he is gong to do this for revenge on how he has been treated by voters and Democrats that wouldn't let him campaign for them. He is an arrogant child and he is going to throw a fit. Believe me, this will cause tremendous damage to the Democrats

Barry is also hoping the Republicans will overreact and shut down the government. That won't happen. They will though pass legislation when the new Senate is in place and then send it to Obama. He will dismiss it and act like the mad, spoiled rotten child he is.

The midterm vote results weren't for the Republicans as much as a way to stop Obama's actions America knows is hurting this country. Obama is not going to be a Bill Clinton, who got the message and with the Congress, passed meaningful legislation that helped the country. Obama will never ever do that. He would rather cause has much hell for this country as he can. He is mad and going to act out on his anger.
