Auburn is the current Cinderella in the SEC tournament as a 13 seed with upsets over Miss. St., TxAM and LSU. Bruce Pearl has 'em believing and on a roll but this one will be against all odds. War Eagle!

With you on this one…War Da## Eagle!
Would they roll Toomer's Corner if they won today?

According to my wife, the university has asked folks not to roll Toomer's Corner until the replacement oaks (some are offspring from the original ones) take root and get stronger. They better have an "alternate site" if they pull off the upset!

I'm glad to hear they are replacing the trees. They were so old and kind of craggy but majestic in their cragginess. Too much AU history would've been lost if they weren't replaced. Loved visiting Auburn on a football weekend.

I'm sure the students will be creative and find a way to Roll Toomer's Corner if they pull off the upset. Maybe roll the lightposts in the center of town.

Visited Auburn and the campus many years ago and it was a beautiful setting. Would love to watch a football game in Jordan-Hare stadium and hope to do so soon while my wife still has connections down there.

Stony Brook lead the entire second half only to fall to Albany on crazy three at the buzzer. Stony Brook would have been another tournament team and a top 100 win on UC's resume.

Why does it seem like there are more buzzer beater, crazy finishes, and comeback during March than the entire season? Why can't UC be on the positive end next week on one of these things.

Buzzer beaters do not get pub in the regular season. Most Albany games and many other conferences are not on TV. You only see them now because the conference tournament gives them some visibility.

That and over the 5 (or so) day period of conference tournaments, there are are huge number of games played (relative to number of games played over the same stretch of days in the regular season). Many games + more visibility for games that aren't even on TV = more buzzer beaters hit and shown.

By tournament time they have faced each other numerous times through conference play, thus more familiarity and closer games. Add to the fact they are playing for their tournament lives.

The A10 tournament in Brooklyn seems pretty well attended. Do we think the AAC tourney attendance is so bad just because it is in Hartford?

Playing it in a far corner of the conference footprint makes zero sense. Few will take off a work week to travel that far for what could be 2 hours of game time. Same with next year in Orlando. They need to pick a central location so fans will consider attending. If that is Memphis, so be it.

Tulane,ECU, Houston, UCF aren't going to travel regardless of location to a tourney they have a 1-2% chance of winning.

Nashville would be nice.

Usually decent weather...good party bars and music...centrally located in the conference footprint.

That wouldn't be bad, although a little close to Memphis. Atlanta would be an ideal "neutral" location.

One of the issues with Nashville is that the SEC has at least some sort of rotation with Nashville for their Conference Tournament which books the arena at least every so often. (I believe the SEC Tournament was held there last season...)

EDIT---The SEC is playing in Nashville right now. I'm just not sure if this is their regular conference site or not.

I would think right in here in Cincinnati would be a good location. Also Memphis, Nasheville, New Orleans, or Philadelphia.

Memphis is the best option for a centralized location.

With that said, nobody wants to travel to these games anyway for the most part. You have to have it in someone's backyard because 38 people might so up if it's a neutral site. Also, you want it to be somewhere that people might want to spend a week at.

It makes sense playing it in UCONN this year. Better chance they get in to the tournament, more teams represented from AAC

NEw Orleans gets my vote every year. Give Tulane every advantage, haha.

The AAC might as well expand into the Bahamas and hold the tourney there.
