I just can't get by the fact ULL needed a miracle last minute TD drive to beat GaSt at home.
Miracle might be overstating there a little...they had another possession and we stopped them, wasn't exactly a TD as the clock expired. And our backup QB led the game winning drive.

UL is terrible they got skull drug, they wont win the conference, GaSo should be in the access bowl yatty yatty yatty well we put it all together and you are in a minor funk. You got skull drug by a semi terrible Navy team and lost to a mediocre NC State team. But none of that matters to me I still think you have a good football team. My message is if you gonna talk trash expect it back. every school waits for their opportunity to fire back at another school if you don't believe me just look at Appy State right now you would think they are in first place in the SBC. We took our beatings from the fans of all the other school but look at us now. I too am glad that your fans are passionate about your team and school wouldn't want it any other way.

Anything stand out to you in this box score other than turnovers? Pulling your ace early to preserve a potential run at the conference championship makes sense when the cards seem so stacked against you and you already have an A+ without even taking the test. Maybe could have reduced the turnover number.

Team Stat Comparison
GASO NAVY
1st Downs 19 23
3rd down efficiency 6-12 3-7
4th down efficiency 0-2 1-1
Total Yards 448 465
Passing 73 71

You GSU guys are so full of S@#$ you talk big crap when you are on a roll, we're the king of the world, how could they leave us out the access bowl we are better than UL and A State they are lucky to dodge us then you get a Naval foot shoved up your rear end now it oh we didn't expect to do this well, we lost to two P5 schools by 5 points oh pitiful me. Oh we killed App St and can you be good little brothers and go beat the mighty Cajuns. Then if you beat Monroe you'll be back to your old arrogance pounding your chest. And you might win the battle but you never went to the war. I'm so sick of your bipolar fans. Can't wait until football season is over so you can just go away until next football season.

Big difference is right here UL- #8 Ole Miss., #29 Boise St., #40 La Tech.

GaSouthern- #17 Georgia Tech, #63 NC State, #69 Navy.

Its pretty clear what the difference is, you didn't play anyone.

You're putting me to sleep with this stuff03-zzz.....ULL lost all three including one of them at home and GS lost all three - two very close and one not close. Both teams undefeated in Sunbelt play, and we'll let it play out. Case closed. Surely there is something else to talk about.

If the case is closed, then why are you still running your mouth? Two losses to weak teams period. Spin it any way you want, only in Statesboro is anyone listening to it.

You think anyone outside of U La La territory thinks GS is not just as good as U La La with our two resumes or listening to that lameness you are spouting? If so you are an idiot. If you have not noticed Navy has been on a roll the previous three games and at the end of the year you may have played only one better team. Also, this just in you got bitched slapped in all your good OOC games we did not. A ***** slapping against a decent team is really that much better than a close loss to NC State who took FSU to the fourth...... You can definitively base an opinion on that? 03-lmfao

Yes, we know you goat bangers read the Statesboro Gazette and outside of that bird cage liner, no one gives a crap about your close moral victories. Great Navy team? You are a freaking idiot if you believe that a sub .500 Navy team was anything special. Navy took you goat bangers behind the barn and brutalized Southern Georgia!03-nutkick

Some teams simply matchup better against a given foe than others, even those with better overall records. That is just the way it is. That is why we have those weird scores that seem to defy logic. Both of these teams are pretty doggone good, and they represent the Sunbelt well wherever they play.

You hit the nail on the head. Georgia St almost beat us last year also, but we still won the conference. Just like the past 2 yrs we whipped a good TXST team. Some teams just always has the other teams number.

We could have this problem with who is the better team until we either add a team and have a conference championship game or get the teams back to 9 by getting rid of NMSU and Idaho, then everyone will play each other. I only said those 2 teams because they are not a good regional fit

Feel free to go to the CUSA board and tell them how much better GSU is than LaTech. How many teams you beat with a winning record or loss to with a winning record. Why can't you guys except that you are a good team but ran into a Navy team that had your number. Take a page from the Cajuns we loss three in a row we didn't make excuses we just battled back. Heck we still have three games to go we don't know what the future holds but we'll take it one game at a time. You are a good add to the SBC along with App State with all the garbage teams out there I feel we got lucky to get you both. Next year you will play for more than a conference championship you will have the opportunity to play for a bowl. Patients grasshopper. No need to sling mud We are both in the SBC get use to it there are no National Championships here in football.

Hey Cajuns! Reality check! You dodged one first year FBS transition team in position to take the conference title with only one game left on the schedule. First year in the Sun Belt has been great! Saturday at 503-razzm.

can someone pull up posts where our fans said we should be in the access bowl? I don't remember that ever happening. I remember people talking about scenarios in which it could happen, but don't remember our fans saying we should be in that spot. Also, I remember most of our fans predicting a 6-6 or 7-5 record this season, only to be told by ULL fans that we are delusional to think we will be that successful.

Sure, we have some loud fans, but this guy is throwing out some pretty invalid claims about things our fans have said.

Oh well, I guess we will just have to go take care of business in two weeks.

I particularly enjoy this conference, I think Ga South fans have met their smack talking counterparts in the UL Cajuns. They don't even play each other this year or the next, and we already have a rivalry brewing something fierce here. This is good gumbo we got cooking here.

Quote:My best guess would be 4-8. (3-9 If App beats you.)

You start out with 3 tough games, have injuries, lack depth and struggle all season, just like nearly every other move up before you.

Don't see you bucking history.

Quote:3 wins is probably your baseline. Idaho, Savannah State, and Appy (at home). Reach perhaps to beat NMSU and GSU to reach 5.

My guess would be 2-5 wins, with 3 being the most likely result. Its a lot harder when you step up. Teams have more depth and are faster than you are. And its a lot easier to get up for one big game than to do it 12 times.

Quote:Yea, well your line is gonna get tired after 3 or 4 of these games in a row. This isn't FCS. Teams are fast, they are big, and you will be short staffed with a non-FBS recruited team next year. And God help you if you have any injuries. You could do well. But at some point, it comes down to size and speed.

I have no problem with the prediction that Appy and Ga Southern will be competing for the Sun Belt crown very shortly. But next year....I'd be surprised if that were the case.

Quote: Congrats on the Florida win. There's a difference between 1 FBS game and 11 of them. The schedule is manageable, but I'm afraid there are going to be some more disappointed fans when FBS reality sets in. Many of us in the Sun Belt come from a FCS pedigree. Some of us were very successful in FCS. Pretty much all of us sucked eggs at transition. My prediction of 3 wins with 5 as a reach stands, not as a dig on your program, but from the history of FCS moveups. Its about the 2nd and 3rd slots on your depth chart. No. You likely won't be Georgia State (a special case of a team that made a boneheaded decision for their first head coach and then had to move up a year too early), but its not realistic to think that you're going to have 8-9 wins in your year one transition year. And you play 7 games on the road.

Quote:By the way, this isn't a dig on Georgia Southern, but on the unrealistic expectations of some of their fans. I'm glad they expect to be great.

But history tells us that 7-4 FCS teams don't usually have winning records when they move up. And that teams that have 7 road games have a hard time getting to 6-6.

Quote:If either Ga So or App finish in the top half of the final conference standings it'll be groundbreaking news. Neither will win over 3 games in conference.

I could post more, but I'll stop there.

Can you pull up where all cajun fans told you that? Or are you generalizing? And maybe thinking of a couple?

Wow, 1 entire conversation...should I start quoting some of the rediculous things some of your fans have said and use it to broad stroke your fan base? Because I'm sure it wouldn't take me long.

go ahead. go find predictions of our fans saying we would win the conference first year and fans that predicted we would win 8 or 9 games. Go find fans of ours saying we could see us pulling off the upset against NC State or GT. And then pretty much after each one of those predictions, feel free to quote the replies telling us there is no way we compete, because we don't have depth, we aren't as big, we aren't as fast, etc.

We far exceeded the expectations of our own fans this season and were told by everyone else that we would struggle mightily against the likes of Idaho and NMSU, and Ga State, etc.

The bickering between ULL and GS fans is expected when you have 2 teams who will likely go undefeated in the conference (ahem.... App....). Both fan bases are proud of their team and trash talking will never end between the two. Any fan of either team that thinks the other team is going to do anything else than claim superiority of their own team is delusional. ULL fans are just as quick to claim they are better because they lost to better teams, just as quick as our fans are to claim we are better because we almost beat ACC teams. Good lord, give it a ******* rest.
