So you're not sure about Clark, but still an apologist for Haase. Makes sense.

I'm not sure about Clark because he hasn't been here long enough. I do like what I have seen early on. I am not ready to write Haase off yet, but I do have doubts. That doesn't make me an apologist.

I have also decided that I will never call for a UAB coach's head anymore, based on the crap they have to deal with being a UAB coach.

I had big doubts about haase since around the middle of last season.. He still probably deserves some time though..

I appreciate the shout out MB!

Subjectively, is this the worst Uab has ever looked to start a bball season? Losing to a sunbelt team, favored fairly solidly, in an empty building; has to be pretty close to the bottom..

Like I said, this has a good chance of being the worst season UAB has ever had. The worst season I could find using RPI was 2001-2002 and that was Murry's last season.

Mike Davis got fired for a single 115 RPI (15-16) season, among many other reasons. Murry Bartow resigned/whatever when he went 13-17 and had an RPI in 150s. Haase's first two years were RPI in the 140s in year 1 and 150s in year 2.

The fact that we're almost hoping UAB can have a 100-150 RPI year is honestly kind of sad. A 200+ RPI UAB team this year is a real possibility. It's pretty difficult for me to get excited for basketball lately, even though it is my favorite sport.

To look on the bright side - maybe Watts and Mackin will be bright enough to understand that at least part of how the Bart looked tonight was a direct result of the way things are being done.

I wish I thought that Mackin, Watts and the rest of the Athletic Department had that much introspective.

Introspective?!? They've got introspective out the proverbial ass...heads down as they ponder how to make real what they already believe and, meanwhile, avoid every coach, fan, microphone, faculty, politician, booster, sunlight, etc. They need to get some extrospection - examination of what is outside oneself - real quick-like.

ULM could be vastly improved this year. Who knows? What I do know is they went 7-11 in the Sun Belt last season, and won only 10 games overall.

However, on the prefgame radio show it was mentioned several times that they were returning their point guard and center from a year ago. Those are two very important pieces to a basketball team.

Yep. And we returned what exactly? It is going to be a rough start this year, many of us have been saying that for months. Losing to ULM sucks, but it is just one game.

Some bright spots:
Norton had 5 assists and 1 turnover. He didn't score until garbage time, but he is such a good shooter. We have to find a way to get him 6-8 good shots a game.

Tosin had a double double with 4 blocks. I think we need to find a way to get him more shots too. Somebody just needs to teach him how to catch and entry pass.

We shot 13-15 from the line. I wish we would get more aggressive and earn some more trips to the stripe, but that's a solid job from the line.

We wound up with 7 steals. I didn't think we even knew you were allowed to steal the ball at times last year.

We obviously had several areas we can use a bunch of improvement in, but I just though I'd point out some of the positives. And again, let's not forget we still haven't had Lee yet. I'm assuming he is going to play a major role on this team.

I think it would benefit this team to run a press from time to time. In the exhibition, the players were really getting into it, and it was actually successful. We need to find some ways to get easy baskets because our offense isn't clicking just yet.
