The UNCW switch to online-only media. Help!
UNCW has dropped over-the-air radio in favor of the CAA's "Stretch Internet" based online media platform. So if you want to listen to or watch games, that's your only option.

The problem? It appears to suck unless you have a lightening fast internet connection. I just got finished trying to watch "on demand" the UNCW/Catawba exhibition, and it was a pretty bad experience. If I was trying to watch a live game, it would have been totally useless.

Am I missing a trick here? Is there some way to better utilize the platform? To listen to an audio-only stream?

I recall a JMU-poster writing about how bad it was there. Maybe someone has figured out how to crack the code?

I requested an audio only stream. Response from stretch was that is not under their control and to contact the content provider, i.e. the school. Basic stuff here that is not being done

Here's a link to tonight's audio only feed:

http://portal.stretchinternet.com/uncw

Ironically, since audio is the ONLY option, it may be a better experience than if we were treated to mandatory (but dysfunctional) video=only feed.

I couldnt find the audio link to the exhibition. Since this is a non confernce road game they have no video rights and can only provide an audio link. Next home game will be the test. Anyone have the link to last week coaches show? Couldn't find that either

Hey guys, I'm a JMU fan working at UNCG and cruised over here to see if there was anything about the W v. G game tomorrow and noticed this thread. Stretch has been TERRIBLE for JMU so far this year. We used to have NeuLion until this year and while we still complained, it was very serviceable. Stretch has been an old-school dial up AOL-type disaster. Hope it's better for you, and I will say that personally I've had a better (still not great) experience with it in Greensboro than most of our fans back in DC/NoVA, Richmond, and the Tidewater. Hopefully it will work better for you all as well.

Thanks...I think!

Does JMU still have over-the-air radio to use as an alternative? The worst of all worlds is when you have internet only, with a video-only feed that doesn't work in a serviceable way. In that scenario there is no way to follow a game at all.
