A couple of "no name" schools.
1. a team from the Big Sky that Toledo defeated
2. another from the Missouri Valley Conference......

I think it's significant that Coach K and Toledo held on to Sanford...could have been an interesting story for a "local boy staying home" at an Evansville program that appears to be getting better?

What do you mean "held on to"??? It was not a situation where committed and then backed out. He signed a Letter Of Intent to attend The University Of Toledo in November during the early signing period. The LOI is an actual contract between the college and the future student athlete. Sanford was not held on to. He was locked in.

I understand. I meant it was good that we held onto him in November. I have no idea, but I would be very surprised if Evansville hadn't made an all-out effort to get Sanford to stay instead of signing with us. This wasn't like us making a half-hearted effort to get someone like Nigel Hayes who was never going to come here--this was a MAC school against a Missouri Valley school, and when it comes to hoops, that's not always a recruiting battle the MAC will win. Very pleased that he's coming here, lest anyone misunderstand me.
