Hell, I'm going to be honest. I'm tired of these Ga Southern folks talking like they are the greatest thing to ever happen to this conference. They lucked out and got a weak arse schedule and even if they do technically become conference champs, there will always be an asterisk beside their name for the 2014 season, and not only because it's a transitional year for them. Hopefully ULM beats the snot out of GaSo. By the way, glad to have Southern in the conference.
Congrats to Georgia Southern on receiving votes. quite an accomplishment for a first year FBS team. We will bury the hatchet as to who is better next year when we rotate into each others schedule. Cheers to a good season and see you next football season to settle the smack talked by both sides
Are GS's accomplishments to date historically significant? Meh, not on this board. We're too busy hearing how ULL compares while crap state fans . Pathetic.

I've been as supportive and appreciative as anyone here for what GaSouthern has accomplished this year but have to say the constant "look at me" drumbeat is getting old. I know you guys have been there many times, so as the saying goes, act like it.
We're glad you're doing well in your first year in FBS, we're glad you're getting votes, we're glad you're representing the Belt well. But if you guys think we're all ready to bow and kiss your rings, you've come to the wrong club.

Our conference schedules are all one game different, so I'm confused at how our schedule is weak 'arse' when they are 90% the same? Could it not be argued because GS is not on your schedule it is weak 'arse'? There won't be an asterisk if we win the conference championship because we have been eligible for it all season. Also, thank you for the backhanded compliment. It is appreciated.
I have no problems with GaSo's on field accomplishments but stop crying me a river with the we lost to two ACC team by a little. A loss is a loss by the way we loss three by big numbers and all three are going bowling NC St is a joke a game you should have won but you didn't. Stop begging for a bowl game if it happens it happens. Reality check you are not going to the Access bowl no way no how no shape. Now if you want us to acknowledge your success you got that but stop whining you are making me drunk. And yes Cajun fans are pissed we did every thing the conference has asked us to do to be out right champs heck we beat the three time champs but the conference has screwed this up so bad we may have to share with you. Not saying UL or State would beat you but damn they could have made you play one of us. My thinking is the conference took the team that they thought was the worst of the two newbies and gave them a break but you have proved them wrong you are not the worst. A victory is a victory so to belittle our victory against GaSt is crazy if you notice they quit on the season after we beat them in there bowl game against us. So you will learn sooner or later Cajun fans will never give up or quit an argument.

Interesting post. Recognizing GS's history and suggesting that it's some how meaningful is refreshing particularly from a ULL fan. My hats off to you sir. This thread is simply a shout out to the conference and the info is significant. The back and forth between ULL and GS is certainly expected. The back handed condescension is not. Thank you for being supportive.

I never have a problem with shout-out threads when a team is getting votes in the polls. Heck, regardless of the Belt team, if I saw the story and could post it before anyone else had, I would.
As for the back handed condescension comment, you really have to consider where you're posting, no? It comes with the territory. Obviously, if the Cajun program were on the skids right now, you'd see far fewer and less caustic comments directed at your squad.
I post on a Tulane forum and it's amazing the backlash I get from a few of their fans when I post stories about the Cajun program in the section labeled: THOSE OTHER LOUISIANA SCHOOLS. Some folks just have a low tolerance to hear any news about their competition, especially when their team is sucking donkey balls and the other guys are on a winning streak.
Relax a bit, enjoy the season, the discussions and the football, and try to let those off color comments roll off your back. No one stays up forever and the fall from glory can be a real mother if you take all this stuff too seriously.

I think that some of our "friends" here love stirring the pot at Cajun fans expense.I'll be the first to admit it took some getting used to you guys but i like you. At least you GS guys care about your programs as we do ours.

And a trip to the big Dance last year.
Last year was pretty sweet all-round and I hope the Cajun athletic program can build on it. I was disappointed in how the football team started off this year but am obviously pleased that, from the coaching staff on down, everyone has gotten their heads on straight (or not lost them alltogether) and the team is playing solid ball.
I much rather finish the year on a high note than start off strong and lose the last 3 or 4.
