2014-2015 Baseball Season
Schedule is out, more info will be available tommorw on Tribe Athletics.

Very unbalanced, from February 17 toMarch 11 we play 15 straight home games. Then, we only play 4 home games all of April, all over a 6 day stretch. If I made the schedules, I would've flipped the home/road dats for Longwood and ODU to try to balance it out a little better.
Also, can anone make out the logos for the February 27th, March 3rd, and May 14th games? I can't make out those logos

I believe that's Fairfield, Campbell, and George Washington

You're right, thanks. Fairfield seems like a really random OOC matchup.
Also weird that we have 1 home game against UCONN, they have a 1 off against Wake the day before, so I guess we're just in the area.

Yeah, we get a fair amount of northern teams coming down early in the season or around spring break. There's lots of "in the area" one-offs over the course of the season.

Almost all the OOC matchups seem weird to me. Binghamton, Fairfield, Campbell, UMass-Lowell, Kennesaw State, and George Washington seem like a very odd group. At least GW and Campbell are close by but I would assume plane trips for Binghampton, Fairfield, Lowell, and KSU

Have you ever tried to play baseball outside in NE in February? That's why we get a lot of those teams coming down here OOC. Binghamton, Lowell, and Fairfield make sense, but Kennesaw State is weird.
Binghamton's about 7-8 hours drive, so it's probably not a plane trip unless they've got a big budget.

Kenesaw is in the area more or less, I'd assume they'll come here next year. And they tend to be decent, so it's a good matchup.
We played at Campbell last year, so them coming here makes sense

I think Kennesaw made the CWS last year

Very nice opening series at CWS semifinalist Ole Miss. Eight of their nine draftees are gone with just one of their regular rotation pitchers back. Nice stadium and will be filled for their opening. Good opportunity and good experience for this team.

Note two home games with Virginia Tech..very nice.
These Northern teams will be on Southern swings playing four or five
colleges.
