Of course it doesn't, but like others have said there's nothing wrong. Just let them finish the report blah blah blah. I don't want to lay down and wait for the axe to drop. Wish it was something more we could do.

Callaway looks like he just picked a boogie and wiped it on his shirt. As of now I dont blame McGee for leaving.

Okay, I keep hearing the contract extension talk.

Yes, I agree that Clark wasn't given as long a contract from the start as he should have been. But should we really expect him to have already been given the extension before the end of his first season? Honest question, I can't remember when the other guys got their extensions, but middle of the season doesn't seem right to me.

Well this is certainly a great recruiting tool for our conference rivals.

You do it whenever you realize that what you got is what you want to keep.

Could Coach Clark be waiting until the end of the season? If I was on the verge of taking UAB to it's first bowl game in a long time I would wait to get more leverage in the negotiations.

I realize they are as much to blame, but they didn't make a nice little graphic and tweet it across the internet though.

Just think what they might do without a good public shaming.

touche

But, until we get these things cleared up this is going to make recruiting a lot more difficult.

Are you going to the Alumni event tonight? I doubt Watts will be there but they are having an "uncorking party" or something other. I had not planned on going since I was on call at the hospital and can't drink, but now it may be worth going to if it is not too late.

Recruiting will be a lot more difficult without a football team.

No. They just seem reluctant to accept it.

While I think the BOT is evil and out to destroy the program, adding "facts" that aren't true just creates a lack of credibility

The brand new football foundation (FF) is not actually offering the money to build a football building. They are in talks asking the city of Birmingham to provide 100% financing in a bond issue to be build a facility somewhere on UAB property. The brand new foundation without even a board of directors (at least announced to the public) has simply agreed to "repay" the bond issue for the next twenty to thirty years.

Has any of these facts changed since the BBJ article?

If not, Too many unanswered questions to proceed such as:

Is this facility at top of Coach Clarks need list? (was not on his earlier list)
Was the project done in corporation/vetted with UAB as promised or just announced to the public?
Has the plan been coordinated with UAB facilities as required of ALL buildings on campus?
How does FF plan to repay ?
Would future donations now be tied/pledged to this and prevent money from going to other future projects such as OCS?
What are the odds that the new FF will still be in existence five years from now(much less last up to thirty years)?
Will the principals of FF willing to be personally liable in default?
Will the owner (the city) have any rights to currently use the building for things such as the senior events or even the classic?
If the FF defaults on bonds will the city of Birmingham then own the building outright the UAB campus?

Heck I have preached for years as to what the east end of campus might do if they got in charge - so I understand the paranoia. Sorry any college administrator would not accept this proposal in present form
