During the stadium debate the petition got about 2,000 signatures. This one is already closing in on that.

How about circulating a petition for your remaining home games...and around campus? Online is great, but unless Reddit or you tube gains traction...

Don't want to be a Debby Downer, but y'all really don't want to put all your eggs in the constitutional amendment basket. For as long as I've lived in AL, they've tried to let lower AL taxes support lower AL schools to no avail. :(

Lol, as many times as Price dug that ******* pick axe into all of our fields, you're gonna bring up some pee? Loved smacking his team in the mouth every time he pulled that crap.

Thankfully, UTEP has smacked Marshall in the mouth as many times as vice versa.

2010/10/30 Marshall 16 - UTEP 12
2009/11/28 Marshall 21 - UTEP 52
2006/11/18 Marshall 49 - UTEP 21
2005/10/22 Marshall 3 - UTEP 31

I would have signed (did on line instead)and probably a lot of the Tech fans would have this past weekend.

This is a "slippery slope" that is occurring, and can happen to a number of us. There was talk a couple of years ago to bring Tech under the LSU umbrella. Luckily it was squashed. We all need to stick together not only as a conference, but as a "Group of 5" to preserve not only our collegiate heritage, but all of college sports.

Signed. Us G5 schools have to stick together against the entitled ones. I hope the best for the Blazers.

1st...I signed it already.

2nd...something like that happened in TN. They wanted to put all TBR schools (Memphis, MTSU, ETSU...basically everyone not a "UT_" school) under the UT system...which I would have had an issue with, except they wanted to designate all "UT_" school as "research" schools and all TBR schools as "teaching" schools...negating many programs at TBR schools that are superior to those of the mothership. It a rare moment of activitism, I wrote a scathing article and I still remember professors seeking me out to pat me on the back. They dropped the proposal...but that was totally unrelated to my writing, I'm sure.

This is serious....It's an all hands on deck situation, code red, 911, may day! All that! We need more signatures, please encourage your fellow fans to sign the petitions that are circulating online. I would like to reach out to the Commissioner of Conference USA as well and ask for his open support... I love Conference USA, and would hate to leave it, especially under these circumstances, but this is what UAB is up against..."Devastating" is an understatement describing what's going to transpire if this happens to our football program, and yes it's a bigger fight than just that, but this is the primary component of our pending crisis. Thank you in advance for your efforts and support. It means more than you can possibly imagine.

Well said...I agree with every syllable. It's just a matter of time before the power brokers of college football try to eliminate G5 programs entirely because they're not empowered to compete for their mythical national championship, and the national media's in bed with them to ensure that schools like Marshall & Boise State, to name just a couple, stay on the outside looking in, the way they've systematically ignored and disavowed Marshall is entirely disrespectful...But their message is clear, if you don't have a seat at the dinner table...you are probably on the menu...
