Could having a UAB insider (mother of a current UAB football player) as a member of the UA Board of Trustees help our cause or help to expose the plot to shut down UAB football?

They're not going to include her in any plotting. They probably don't expect to get her vote, but they may have some kind of leverage on her.

Her son plays on UAB's football team. What leverage could out weight that?

Barbara is a great person, who will do her best for UAB.

The objective by them is destroy first, vote later.

Her husband played at UAT, too.

I am not saying anything against any one in the Humphrey family. I'm saying that dirty back room dealing is meat and drink to some of the men on that board.

I'm sure she'll do what she can as a former athlete with a son on the team, but she's just not as politically powerful as PBJ and crew.

Gotcha. I'm just saying if you mess with a Momma's child (regardless of who or what you may be) you're in for a fight.

Her husband Bobby, is also a huge UAB supporter. I sat with him at games before.

She is one vote

Her son plays football and her daughter runs track at uab. Seen bobby Humphrey at multiple games. I think she's on our side.

Remember that they killed the OCS without even *bothering* with a vote.

My point for bringing up Barbara Humphrey was that she is in a position to be able to offer UAB football some help from inside the BOT. She probably won't be able to do much, but it makes me feel better to know that there is at least 1 person on the BOT who has a dog in this fight for UAB athletics.

Well, we'll see if her and Bobby rock the boat for the son's sake or sit back so Bobby doesn't get fired.

Humphrey isn't on the athletics subcommittee. I think the way parliamentary procedure works is that there is some approval process internal to the subcommittee prior to it being brought up to the whole floor. She wouldn't have much of a say in the official process...
