Maybe even blow a redshirt on Gibson, if we have too.. Just win baby! Note to coaching staff RUN HUNT! 25-30 times. Have Swanson and Hunt on the field at the same time once in awhile. Hunt has all off season to rest up. I see WMU beating NIU. I was not that impressed by NIU. They looked very average to me. Definitely not the same team we faced the last 4 years. They just won because they have the developed a championship mentality and expect and know how to win. And a better anymore experienced coaching staff. They also consider Toledo their main rival, unlike Toledo. Toledo better wake up and recognize that NIU is more a rival than even BG, since we are in the same division. We haven't reached our goals in a long time as a team because of NIU, not BGSU. We have beaten BGSU the last 4 years and look what has gotten us. Just a little bragging rights in NW OH. Tomorrow's game though definitely means everything and I think will decide if Toledo goes to the MACC or sits home once again over the Holidays.

Amen!!! I thought they were saving Hunt for NIU and BGSUcks. Hunt only had 19 carries against NIU, which ended up being the same as Macon, that was not enough.

I liked the idea of 25-30 carries for Hunt, another 10-15 for Swanson, and 10 more for Macon.

RUN THE BALL!!!

Yes we save Hunt by taking him off the felid on some of the most critical drives of the game against NIU. If you want to give him a rest, put him on the field with Swanson sometimes and put him in motion to the slot and then hand the ball off to Swanson. I bet a gaping hole will open up for Swanson. When he is on the field the D is going to account for him and key on him where ever he is on the field. Then later throw him a screen in this formation. Then maybe make pump fake to him on a screen and hit Russell on a deep post later in the game.. That lack of simple common sense strategies and setting the Defense up is what drives me crazy about this staff. They have zero creativity.

Hey now -- they were creative last year with that jump pass in crucial moments of the niu game -- oh wait. Yeah. That sucked.

That was AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!! 03-hissyfit

Can't believe I forgot that one...Candle tried to one up himself with the 4th down bubble screen this year.

The thing is, since they tried it they must have thought it could work. It didn't and, as far as I recall, they never tried it again. So, why did they not practice it and use it again? To me, they were either stupid to think it could work in the first place or they are stupid to not keep practicing it until they are good enough to make it work.

RE: INJURY UPDATES
I do like the idea of having both Hunt & Swanson in the backfield together. Lord knows we don't really need all the receivers we have on each play. Heck, go to the ol' wishbone. Make your opponent have to guess which all-MAC caliber RB is getting the ball, and which direction they're going.

Another inactive for the Rockets: senior safety Jordan Haden. DeJuan Rogers will start in his place. #RocketNation #BeatBG

Good news and very bad news for Toledo. TE Zac Rosenbauer is in uniform. Safety Jordan Haden, who has started every game, is OUT.

Greg Mancz is in street clothes & is inactive tonight. Logan Woodside & Dwight Macon both dressed & warming up. #RocketNation #BeatBG

Both QB Michael Julian (concussion) and LT Greg Mancz (bruised left knee) are in street clothes. Both are out for tonight's game.

In the latest installment of offensive lineman are crazy people, Toledo LG Jeff Myers is warming up in shorts ... and no shirt. All right.

Campbell has said all week he thinks Macon and Woodside both will play, but I think Woodside starts and plays most of the game.

We don' need no steeenking defense anyway!

Here's a wuestion- if a less than fully healthy Woodside starts do you start Macon at his usual receiver spot or hold him out in case he needs to go in at QB?

The Woodside injury manifested itself in inaccurate passing against NIU. If he is not real close, go with Macon.

Poor kid couldn't even plant and throw. Showed some toughness trying to go, but he was not even close to being serviceable. Its tough to throw if you can't use your feet /legs to develop any force behind your passes.

RUN THE BALL!!!

Thankfully the coaching staff finally decided to give Kareem the damn ball!!! 30 carries for 265 yards, that is what I am talking about!!!

RE: INJURY UPDATES
Is Jones-Moore injured? If not he should be used a bit late in the second quarter and in the fourth quarter. He would have fresh legs going against a tired defense. When he gets 6 carries or so per game, at least two of them are for significant yardage.

I was wondering the same thing...Swanson is a good back, but Moore needs some touches too. Swanson got blown up on blitz and ended up hitting Macon....who fumbled. I noticed Hunt in to pass protect late in the 4th...did a great job. Perhaps Moore has trouble when asked to block? Who knows...I would like to see him get some carries...he's been productive when given the chance.
