You're far more charitable than I am.

Both those plays were more than a little bit dirty. Crashing through the legs of someone already engaged in a block should have been a penalty and the same for lowering your head and spearing a QB in the ribs.

Agreed

Amen. That #70 should be in wikipedia as the definition of a douchebag. Puts his make-up on, then acts like he was in a WWF/WWE (or whatever they are called) wrestling match with his antics. He hit Mancz in the knee on purpose and successfully pulled off the act of looking like he was unaware he was even in the vicinity. Same thing with hitting Woodside.. What amazes me is the guy that deliberately takes a shot at a QB's ribs and sternum after he throws the ball doesn't get flagged - but the guy (Silvestre) that follows through by just shoving the QB does get flagged.

Otherwise - this was one of the first games I have seen in a long, long, long time where UT probably got the advantages of the calls in the game. Must be trying to make sure they were undefeated in MAC when they play NIU.

Thank you, Mike O'Brien for not only too quickly hiring Campbell but giving him an undeserved contract extension that makes it all but impossible to do anything but stomach a few more under-achieving seasons. Bring on basketball.

I have never understood the love for Obrien. His hiring of coaches in the revenue sports has not exactly been stellar.

Gene Cross? Bad. TK? Great.
Trisha Cullop? Great.
Tim Beckman? Good. Matt Campbell? Ok.

I wouldn't say that is bad. Pretty good.

Don't necessarily agree with your assessment of mob's hiring. Yes he had one major dud in basketball but he has more than made up for it with Coach K. Cullip has been a solid hire and has brought us a natl. Tourney championship. Beckman was the right guy at the right time. While we rag on the current staff, Campbell has yet to have a losing season as we have been in position to win the west the last three years and we currently have an undefeated conf record. Non revenue didn't our cc coach just win mac coach of the year in the aftermath of the Hadsell mess. He was a mob hire.

And Campbell has done great in everything off the field - GPAs, community service for the team, no players getting in trouble, etc. On-field coaching might be a little questionable, but I'd rather have that be questionable than having him bring in questionable players.

Also under MOB's watch we have renovated savage, built an indoor facility, Larimer renovation, built a team facility at Scott park and it is reported it's now being renovated. All of these things take $ and those funds are raised under his watch. And overall didn't the entire complication of teams average over a 3.0 last year or maybe I am thinking football?
